Design Engineering or Automotive Engineering For....HELP!!!

so I would like to design land based fighting vehicles for BAE systems, but I don't know what course to take. Design Engineering at Ashton uni OR Automotive (off road) Engineering at Harper Adams. both unis say graduates have gone on to work at bae systems but I think Harper Adams has a better relationship with bae systems. anyone got some valuable input?

Is there a joint honours programme for this course?

What about mechanical? I'd imagine that both courses you've listed are heavily based on mechanical, and mechanical would keep a lot of doors open as you can't guarantee that you will get a job with BAE.
Hi Burnsy,

As you probably know, we have both mechanical and off-highway course options, plenty of experience with defence vehicles and amazing facilities including and indoor field and large off-road track. Check out the facebook page, and in particular this link that shows BAE testing at HAU https://www.facebook.com/HarperORVD/posts/1037549706301466

Our next open day is just a few weeks away (July 10) and runs straight into our residential experience for 16 and 17 year olds, if you want to come and give the courses a shot.

Thanks, do you know what specific job titles that students who have studied the automotive or mechanical course and gone on to work at BAE systems have?

Project Engineer - Mobility and Combat Vehicles
Project Manager - Harrier Export
Hydraulic Engineer

Those are just a few I found on Linked In but our lecturers could give more detail if you are able to visit. There are graduates working in a variety of defence positions, with an engineering remit.
