Hi guys for 25 mark questions, just wondering when to use a 'yes yes yes no no no' structure and when to use an alternating 'yes no yes no..' structure. Also do your counter arguments count as evaluation when in the 'yes yes yes no no no' structure?

Always do the yes no structure and argue internally, however if you begin a paragraph starting on for and counter it by the against argument, begin introducing your next paragraph by using the against argument first followed by the for argument so you don't just mention the for argument at the start of every paragraph, it makes it cooler

AS OF 2012:

Just 22% of the HoC constituted for women whilst just 4% for ethnic minorities.

21% in HoL for women and 4% for ethnic minorities.

8% accounted for ethnic minorities across both Houses.

IMO it's much better to use yes yes yes no no then alternating it..

Why would you wanna do that? If you get your timings wrong and only manage to do the yes yes yes ones you lose out on all of your ao3 marks, you wanna be able to get the evaluation marks as soon as possible before you run out of time

The Yes, Yes, Yes, No, No, No Structure and Yes, No, Yes, No,Yes,No is entirely up to you.
I use Yes, No because I feel it looks like you know what you are doing more. But if you do an essay the Yes, No way you need to make the No link to he last Yes paragraph. If you get what I mean?

looked into this in a bit more detail and have found some apparent answers.
so assess is YNYNYN , discuss is YYYNNN, if evaulate is the key word then put 3/4 points and say good / bad things about them, to what extent questions i'm not sure.
can anyone confirm that these are right or have i got the wrong end of the stick lol

It structures your argument out much better, in A2 politics you are also told to use for for for against against against. Even the AS textbook's exemplar essays use this structure. Either way you won't lose marks using the f/a/f/a/f/a way

Ah I see, just a quick question what is even the difference in what you cover in the second year? I've seen stuff about America but do you have to do that?

To what extent questions are 2 for 2 against
as a general rule.
So if the question was ArePressure Groups Becoming More Powerful, Or Less Powerful
you would do 2 saying they are more powerful and 2 saying they are less powerful

With "Assess" and "To what extent" questions, you should use a yes no/ yes no/ yes no structure, because you need to analyse the question thoroughly.

With "Make a case for" questions, you should use a yes X is better (and even though some argue X is worse having X would be better for another reason) x3 structure, and vice versa for "make a case against"
