LSE or Warwick- which is more prestigious?

For now, yeah. Not necessarily the case across all subjects, however.

Yeah like maths
( although, half the content of their maths courses is econ anyway, which is taught by the good econ department, so the degree is only half bad lol)

Unless you want to be a quant it doesn't really matter if the maths course is not as good as LSE compared to Warwick, only the name does

LSE beats it for Law/Sociology/Social Policy etc

Don't know where they stand for some of the other humanities (History, Govt. & Politics, and so on)


Yeh Warwick recks LSE for Physics because it doesnt even offer the course.

In every single course, Warwick is on no equal footing with LSE and is way way waaaay easier to get into.

It is an incredibly overrated institution and its rep on TSR is overinflated by wannabe bankers who keep on insisting to everyone else that it's on par with the G5 when it is nowhere near it.

I don't like the living experience of Oxford. Its entirely personal preference, but having to move out every 8 weeks, and having meals at a set time (or having 1 minute on the JCR hob for some instant noodles) just doesn't appeal... Also, no double beds in the rooms! What's that about...

I would say LSE in both regards but of course this is greatly magnified in its specialist fields of economics and social sciences, I currently have Warwick as my firm and because it is such a young institution in comparison to LSE, it doesn't have the same international acclaim. I would say Warwick is a better all rounder in academic abilities with it regularly contesting the top 10s in numerous subjects but I don't think that quite constitutes prestige.

I'm not quite sure what you mean - please elaborate
I can't help but think threads like this are used to try and work out how people will be prejudiced when reading ones CV. My thoughts are that generally speaking employers are more interested in the person and what they can bring as opposed to the colour of their tie. And if an employer was more interested in which uni you went to rather than your ability, would you really want to work for that sort of business?
