Due to the Afghan war and Reagan outspending them the soviet economy suffered which led to less power and Gorbachev had to make reforms as he couldn’t compete with the the USAs wealth power and therefore international influence. This led to reforms like glasnost and perestroika and with other contributing factors like solidarity in Poland caused the sudden and rapid fall in communism throughout Eastern Europe.

It was fine, last 10 mark was a bit weird but overall I enjoyed it.

Yeah it was decent but last 10 marker was a bit strange. The sources weren't too bad but you never know.

I thought it went pretty well :biggrin: I was writing till the bitter end haha... No idea why, I kept to time very well until the end it seems.

OMG... I feel so glad none of the new spec bs came out tbh haha, apart from the 4 marks question which I messed up for sure. Any idea of the grade boundaries? How many marks is usually an A?
I thought it was decent,slightly harder than last year's which I got an A* on so hoping for the same! Loved the tentacle porn at the start ahaha. Just in case anyone was wondering; last year 62-A* 54-A

aha I'm glad I wasn't the only one. I did Topics 4,5 and 6.. All cold war stuff. And you?
Also the Germany sources and CMC ten marker were so dreamy!

Yeah I did the same topics :smile: I found the sources really hard though - messed up the first one because I completely forgot my exam technique. And I've never heard anything about the Roman Catholic Church in Solidarity either :redface:

the exam is out of 60? I thought it was 48/60 for an A* last year

ours was out of 81; aspects on int relations with Germany 1918-45..
