Can my NUS card be used as ID in an airport?

Hiya, next week I might be flying or taking the ferry from England to Ireland but I don't have any other forms of ID. Will the NUS card be enough as it has my DOB and photo on it? I know that ID options are more lenient in domestic flights within the UK.
