New A level spec

Does the new A level linear format mean none of this year's AS grades count and we basically have to redo the exams next year?
I'm doing OCR English Literature, Psychology and AQA History (I'm also doing Philosophy & Ethics but that's the OCR old spec so not applicable)

Yes you need to redo all exams at the end of second year in order to obtain Alevel grade.
AS wont count toward to your final grade of Alevels but i think it gives you UMS points

What you get this year won't count towards the A level grade, you will have to do 3 units per subject next year for that.
