nope... for bearing it was 90+14= 104

that aint the question we are talking about
Anyone have the question paper?
Does anyone remember what the last question (#8) was about?

Exactly, I thought I was missing out on steps man.

I did 7 lines for q5 (not counting all my crossings out from when I resolved incorrectly at first) and about 3 for q8a

thats correct. it is the same angle as 45 from the horizontal

There was an exact same question about this showing the direction of the Force and in that mark scheme it said marked on diagram not written down... But I think they might accept your answer as well.
I got 32s for 1c, is that right?

I did aswell but apparently that isnt correct. :frown:

I got this. Think the other answer was if you forgot the minus corresponded to the whole of the - d part when you subbed it in
Easy 100% for me

magnitude of the force on the pulley
For those who got 0.2Ns like me on the impulse questions, I got this wrong, the answer is 3 because the direction of the particle becomes negative so it is 0.4*(4--3.5)=3Ns
I can't remember the order of questions and I may have missed a few out but here are my answers

1) bearing 104
Position vectors
640i + 640j
2) T = 20.6
R= 15.45
3) impulse 3Ns
4) graph sketch
Total time = 40 and T was 8.75 or something
5) coefficient of friction : u = 0.73
6) (moments)1.2m and 42kg or something
7) 2.5i + 2.5j
Speed 13m/s
8) 11.74 or something
Pulley - 16.6something at 45 degrees into plane (225 bearing)

I got 90+45 =135? How did you get it to be 180 to the horizontal if it was a bearing?

Yh, but the final answer was 640i+640j
Did everyone use the brick on its own for the force it exerts on the pan one?
guys can someone please write how many marks each question was worth?
Can anyone remember the actual question for number 1?
These are my answers:

1(a) 104, (90+14)

1(b) p = (400+15t)i + (20t)j
q = (20t)i + (800-5t)j

1(c) The 'j' vectors for both are equal, as it is due west.
800-5t = 20t
t = 32
therefore q = 640i + 640j

2(a) T = 20.6N
For the last question About force on the pulley people are getting 16.6 - dont you have to times it by two to get 33? Its the resultant force, the tension is acting vertically downwards and horizontally, so you resolve at 45degrees for one then times by two?

Easy 100% for me

Nearly same for me I had 20 min extra and still could not do the stupid force & vector question but I did part b of that question though.
