You could talk about status in the aggression essay right?

If you're talking about evolutionary explanations, then you can talk about status because in group displays, by using aggression for example in sport like rugby increases chances of them winning. By wining the game, they gain status. This status makes them attractive to females. Therefore, this will increases the chances of them mating and passing on their genes
Guys, can someone pelase just confirm i was right in using 'limited view' as an IDA point for the SET theory.

How are you preparing for the exam? Past papers?

For research methods, yes past papers

I'm using the loopa predictions and writing out my own model answers and then memorising them for schizophrenia and media psychology.

Hahah just saw someone put johnson et al as a fake researcher

I'm cryin 😂😂

I made up about 3 of the researcher's names.. I hope the examiner doesn't realise :O
Well they'll know and they'll penalise you for it. If you didn't make up the research, you should have put "One study found..." or "Research has shown..." and the like.
Also what's the weighting for the two exams? Is psya4 worth more than psya3 or are they they same or?

What will happen if I accidentally put classical conditioning instead of operant conditioning for reward/need satisfaction theory for the direct reinforcement part?

probably lose 2 marks and get the band lower because of inaccuracy, check a mark scheme and see what you lose for inaccurate information

You see for prosocial ... In media
Theres research and there's theories can we just learn theories
Will there ever be a question that just needs research like discuss the research into this

June 2012 the question that came up was:
"Discuss psychological research into media influences on pro-social behaviour (4+6)"
So yeap.
FYI 2013 Jan was
"Discuss one or more explanations of media influence on pro-social behaviour (4+6)"
That's theory :P

equal!!!!! both 25% each mate
So is it possible to get an A with talking about methodological issues?:frown:
Original post by bullseye1
You need to write about both because the questions said "discuss explanation(s)" indicating they wanted more than 1 explanation written about. If you wrote about 2 different types of group display, war and sport, then that's two explanations which is fine but I think if you just wrote about sexual jealousy and infidelity that will count as only 1 explanation and you'd get half marks.

pretty sure it didnt say that. if it did that would mean max 2 A02 points for each explanation, since it was only a 20 marker which is stupid.

doubtful, i mean A02 is worth 2/3 of the marks, and methodology is part of a02

Does anyone have essays or resources for Psychological explanations for schizophrenia, including therapies?
Really would like biological explanations to come, but that's unlikely. I'm just struggling with psychological explanations as the teacher who I have for this sections makes no sense when explaining it!!

I would be really grateful if someone could help!!!!!!:smile::smile:
Guys iforgot the definition of infidelity, so i literally put its when you have sexual intercourse with someone, who isnt your mate. would this be ok?

Oh did anyone do intelligence, if you did, what did you include in the essay??
for the evolutionary explanations of aggression essay i wrote about infidelity and jealousy and referenced cuckoldry, uxoricide etc, however some people are saying you need to write about this AND group displays as it said explanationS? can someone confirm this as now im starting to panic! can i only get a maximum of half marks??!

Depression and Media for me. Our teacher kindly gave us a list of past questions all the way from 2010 to 2015. I highlighted the individual topics and I've done model answers for all the questions (except ones that have repeated). As for Depression, well there's psych+bio explanations and psych+bio therapies and 2 other Depression specific essays so model answers on them.

Past papers for RM. Generally making sure I know enough for possible 6 markers, eg. peer review.

Equal. Whole A level: 25%. A2: 50%. Each is out of 100 UMS. PSYA3 is 72 and PSYA4 is 83.

I highly doubt this was the case because A01 was worth 4 marks.
Remember that some evolutionary aggression questions are phrased jealousy and/or infidelity so I dont think you will get half marks.

Similarly there are multiple explanations within group displays in itself.
