Non-right angled triangles Hints (sine and COSINE rules)

When finding a length, if you are given the other 2 lengths and the ENCLOSED angle, use the COSINE rule.
If you don't have the above, go straight to the sine rule.


When finding an angle, if you are given the 3 lengths, use the COSINE rule.
If you don't have all 3 lengths, go straight to the sine rule.

what do u mean beware of negative b in the quadratic formula, that's one of the main things to do while using the formula

Some people make the mistake of whether the -b is a negative or not. So for example, the b value could be '-4', therefore people end up putting -b as -4 when really it's -(-4) which is +4

No this is not the problem. It is when a -b value is put into the root, the calculator squares b and then puts a negative sign in front of it; this is not what you want !!!

Oh okay, that's what happens at our school a lot, thanks for correcting me though.
