How do u do bounds

The question said rounded to the nearest 10
So for example, 90 to the nearest 10. It could be anywhere inclusivey between 85 and 95 (5 either way as if it was 84, round down or 96, round up.)

On the question, can't remember exactly but you used the UB of the nails ( I think ) and then something close to the LB to get them both to 210
And for the area of the shaded rectangle 5x times x
I got that it was 180

x^2 = 36^2

Square root both

x=6

To clear it up these were the answers for the harder questions

The CosA was 132 degrees. (using reverse of cosine rule by re-arranging it)
Algebraic fractions was -0.78 and -2.78
The guy was too tall for the tent (can't remember what I exactly did, think using pythagoras)
Similar shapes one I forgot kappa, I know I got it wrong but scale factor to power of 3 is what you shoulda used according to surina
Histogram was nice and simple.
The area of the 40x^2 was easy, just divide it by 8 to get the 5x^2 area.
The 49c^2-d^2 was using the method of (7c+d)(7c-d) where -7cd and +7cd cancel each other out nicely.
For the bread types, you know there were ratios of 10 across the breads, 6:1:3, so 130/10 = 13, and then just do 6x13 e.t.c
Simultaneous equations = 20 and 12
Boats was 90km

Hope this clears it up with some of you guys :smile:

I got -0.255 for the quadratic formula one?

Y=5x + 4
For the boat one, it asked for the answer to be to 2sf. I put 90.1 - is that right?

Also, I put for the factorising one 49c-d(c-d) - is this right?

You'll lose one mark for putting the .1, as it's only 0's after the decimal which don't count as SF and the factorising one is wrong, the answer I believe was (7c+d) (7c-d) as the -7cd and +7cd cancel each other out!

Not sure mate, I don't think that's correct from what I heard.

5 and 18

I left it blank

Does anyone have what they put/how to work it out, for the shaded shape question, where it was 1440 for the area? I just blanked

I think I got 180, can''t remember

Ahhh okay thanks, I tried to over complicate it I think, I remember I got to 8x^2 X 5x and for some reason blanked!

The shape was 1.25 bigger however to finf the volume you had to do 1.25^3 * 1440 and thats the volume of the shape.
I got Y=5X+4 for the equation of the line question
