spongy mespophll has air sacs for the diffusion of co2 and oxygen
palisade mespohll has lots of chloroplasts to trap light for photosynthesis.( dis is the right answer, above is just extra)

emulsifies large fat molecules into smaller ones , providing a larger surface area for lipase to act upon, and neutralises stomach acid and produces an optimum alkaline solution in the small intestine for lipase to act upon

How does the iron lung work in comparison to how ventilators work now?

It can cause side effects and the body/immune system is weaker so it's easier to get an infection/disease.

negative pressure system, a vaccum causes the thorax to expand and air to be sucked in, then the vaccum is released and the thorax relaxes and ribcage moves inwards and then you exhale, now I think they just mechanically force the air into your lungs using a tube.

Because many organisms that were around millions of years ago were soft bodied so have decayed and fossils that were around had been destroyed by geological activity, causing a lack/ loss of fossils.

Your immune system becomes weaker so your body is more prone to infections

pancreas can't produce enough insulin to control glucose levels reaching dangerous levels, can be controlled by injecting insulin at meal times , exercising more and monitor your diet.
