If you resit twice & on the third get lower, do they use your new result?

I did unit 2 Chemisty in the OCR board and got a E. However re-did my alevels at a new college and got an D in AQA for the unit 2, however, its a different exam board/ exam code/ content. On my new resit if I end up getting lower will the D count overall or my new grade? Like what happens on results day on my results card if my new grade is lower

Your best attempt at a specific unit is always the one that counts, but you can't use single OCR units in an AQA A level so it will be your best attempt at AQA unit 2.

Thank you so much! What happens on results day will I see my new grade if it is lower or do they automatically put my grade from last year as my overall for that unit?
