it said it was hex-2-end though, so shouldn't the double bond be on the 2nd carbon?

And the next question was regarding it's E/Z isomerism, so both carbons of the double bond must have two different groups attached to them...
A double bond on the first carbon wouldn't show E/Z isomerism.
Would some explain to me how they got there answer for the litres one??

I got 40.1 which is wrong I think

I worked out:
- Moles of c02
- did stoichiometry 1:8 ratio
- then worked out litres after I found the Grams???

anyone else mess up the whole of question 7??? i read bromine as oxygen for the empirical formula on 7a so it messed up the whole thing for me, do you reckon its still possible to get an A if i did well in the rest?

If you did really well in the rest of the paper, only making mistakes costing you a few marks then you should be okay. The grade boundaries are going to be based off last year's and so i wouldn't imagine it'll be more than 86/87 for an A

wtf I didn't notice that why tf was it 1 mark? For all that nonsense

Haha just there to catch us out. Only one mark, no sweat

Can anyone remember the initial and maximum temerature of the enthalpy of reaction ?

I think it was 63.5 and 22...but I'm not sure, all I remember is that the difference was 41.5 (well I'm pretty sure anyway)

Anyways what's done is done!!

Prep up for f324 everyone, I wish you all the best of luck!

you too bud

Did anyone else get methylpropanoic acid for the last one?

I'm sure it was propylpropanoate... reaction with F and G???

Can confirm temperature difference was 41.5

It was a reaction between Propanoic acid and propan-2-ol
What do you all think the grade boundaries are gonna be like?
I mean surely they cant put it up cos only A2 are doing it
Im hoping its like 75 for an A not like 80

did anyone get something like 347.2kJ, 281, 1482 for energy?I messed up the percentage yield somehow, got 11.1gand for the EU questions i just couldn't work it out I think i got 740l or something ridiculousalso C3H7Br for analysis? And then CH3CH2CH2OH, NaBr, and CH3CH2CH2ONa?otherwise it was a decent paper but i don't think it's much easier than any of the past papers

i got 11.1g too, i think i got all those first values tbh. Also got C3H7Br and i got CH3CH2CH2OH and CH3CHOHCH3

Okay thank you
Was the alcohol to alkene a condensation or dehydration reaction?

Definitely higher than 75. Last year was 79 and this years paper was easier. Since only A2 people are doing it my guess would be around 85-86 for an A.

I did moles was 25/1000 times by 0.5
Then 4.18 x temp change x 25 then did q/moles and got somethjng like -317 anyone else?

The moles of 0.0125 of CuSO4. The calculation was 25 mutliplied by 4.18 times 41.5.

So 4336.75 Joules.

The KJ of energy was 4.33675.

Divided by the number of moles so 4.33675/0.0125.

This is 346.94 kj per mole. This is also negative.

I think is correct.

Yes! I got -346 i did exactly that! Hope it's right

Should be correct. Did you get the mass of about 14 for the percentage yield one?

i put condensation but not sure because dehydration is correct too. May accept both and have an "Allow" for either one
Anyone 259 for the petrol one?
