Haven't seen a thread for this unit. I'm retaking this unit, does anyone have any predictions of what will be asked? Thanks

I found it better than last year, but the people in my class said it was harder. How about you?

It seemed to me as if they tried to make it harder, but I think it was OK. What did you put for the three things wrong with the HTML?

1. Forgot to close the <img> tag with </img>
2. Didn't use "text-align" to align the text
3. Not sure - said didn't use <p> tags for the text?

I did the /img one and text-align but instead said there was no file extension on the picture src. I think the image closing tag is wrong though as according to w3schools it isn't needed.

unofficial mark scheme out?
If we can all try to remember some questions and some answers I could form a markscheme but it won't be perfect
What did you guys get for the boolean algerbra simplification? Got a bit stuck on that.
Questions:

Name both the logic gates
Draw the Boolean equation
Write the Boolean equation for the sensors
Use De Morgan's law on the Boolean equation
What is an imperative language?
Number the most appropriate storage devices (3 boxes)
Number the pieces of software (3 boxes)
What is meant by; processor, main memory, control bus
What is a protocol?
What is an IP address?
6 marker on client server stuff
4 marker on differences between Internet and World Wide Web
State why the school have blocked telnet from the school instead of HTTP or something
Principles of operation of CD-RW
What is a library program?
Label the processor, main memory on the diagram (4 things)
State advantages and disadvantages of bespoke software
Explain why it is better to access a remote server instead of multiple servers

Was the equation: NOT(A.B + B+C) ?

not(a.b) + not(b+c)
Original post by MatWhiteside
not(a.b) + not(b+c)

My answer was notA and notC but that's wrong. I spoke to my teacher afterwards he said it was not(B+C)

I put not(A) + not(B), oops. Oh well hopefully get some working marks or something!

Thats what I got aswell. I proved it using boolean algebra then checked it using truth tables on extra paper (under a different question number). 99% sure this is right.

Ah, I hope so mate!

Your teacher is wrong. Its NOT(A.B).

NOT(A.B) + NOT(B+C) = NOT(A.B . B+C)

NOT(A.B.B + A.B.C)

NOT (A.B + A.B.C) and the C becomes redundant.

NOT(A.B)

Those who got NOT(A) + NOT(B) have found the equivalent I hope they get the marks.

I remember in the paper they actually wrote "scr" instead of "src", so i pointed this out as one of them though i was unsure as to maybe i had just fabricated src in my head and they were actually right but i checked w3s and scr would be a mistake so im guessing that should be one of them? i also put text align and the thing about <p> for the text.

Which question was Number the pieces of software, can't remember what I put for that one?
