Did anybody actually answer Q9 tho?😂

Yes, just not the first part...but my answers looked way to simple :/

Answers I remember

Area of OAB= (e^2+1)^2/e^3
Volume=pi(-(ln3)^2 + 2ln3 + 4)
p root q=-root5

Range f(x) =<24ln2 - 8 (iirc)
gg(x) =x

Some *****y fraction somebody Posted for substitution

Attached for show that secx+tanx=0.2

Posted from TSR Mobile

for the range, 24ln2 is the same as 8ln8 right?

Yeah it is

You can do 9a in three lines, using sec^2-tan^2=1 then completing the square and using the value they gave

got the same as you incept for the area one.

yes
Guys what were the questions? trying to remeber to get rough marks
Q1 - three differentiations (out of 6)
Q2 - Simpsons, itteration, and the alpha change in sign thing (out of ??)
Q3 - x^2<5x-6 (out of 5)
Q4 - Translate y=e^2x-5 (out of ??)
Q5 - Find the range of f(x) and gg(x) (out of 7)
Q6- The ln(3x) rotation thing (out of ??)
Q7- ??
Q8- U=4x-1 substiution (out of 7)
Q9- Secx-tanx (out of 8)
ok so that was a difficult core 3 paper. I didnt struggle too much though!

these were my answers

1. differentiation

2. numerical methods =1.51

3. 1<<x>>2 x>>3

4. stretch in x factor 1/2 flowed by translation (2.5,0)
4b. i got point A(2e^-2+2,0) B(0,e+e^-1) line of intersection as y-e^-1=-e(x-2)/2 (couldnt put into form they wanted)

5. f(x)<<1/2 ln(8) and gg(x)=x

6. pi(4-ln(9)-(ln(3))^2)

7. 3rt5/5

8. 117/244

9. cos(x)=-5/13
9b. -32.4, -21.3

i probally made some silly mistakes but im confident on most

That was solid. Think I did ok but question 9 and the prootq thing I couldn't do. 1.51 for the x^x estimate anyone?

You've missed out the solving modulus Q4 I think

What did people get for estimate X^x, i got around 2.27 but my calculator gave me 1.5 something...

Apart from that, dropped 6 marks on 9a, the triangle, couldn't simplify it to the form, and ggx cus im a retard. Hoping for 65 plus now to get around 95 ums, and hope I get 90ish c4.

One of your trig values is wrong, or mine :frown:, -21.3 and -88.7 i had -root5, gg(x)=1 and some other conflicting answers that i cba to type

Awesome
I sat the test today and took a look at the past grade boundaries / 100 UMS. I reckon the grade boundaries will be something along the lines of

100 UMS - 70 (maybe 69)
A* - 62
A - 55
B - 51
C - 46
D - 41
E - 36

I got -21.3 and -88.7 too, how did you get 3 root 5 /3
Original post by RUNSran
cosx was -2/5.2

It simplifies.
