My predictions for unit 4

45:
Feminism: is it a single ideology?
Multiculturalism: does it breed tension/conflict?
Nationalism: is it progressive or reactionary?

15:
Ecologism: ideas of eco-socialism
Ecologism: support for sustainability
Multiculturalism: liberal criticisms
Nationalism: nationalism vs. the state
Feminism: link to liberalism

Do you not think it can be 2 feminism 15 markers because they've not done that in a while?
Guys sorry to bother, I'm having a panic- did anyone do the conservative 45 marker ????

Don't worry, I did exactly the same. Also forgot about atomistic society for rationalism question.

As long as you have alternative points, you'll get marks. They don't mark negatively.

Ahh phew! I forgot atomistic society too. Oh well.

Do you mean the New Right question?

If so, they asked a very similar question in 2012 and here is the mark scheme... http://qualifications.pearson.com/content/dam/pdf/A%20Level/Government%20and%20Politics/2013/Exam%20materials/6GP03_3B_msc_20120307.pdf

It's on page 8.

A lot of people are saying feminism will be the two 15 markers
Original post by Zilein
Do you reckon it's more likely that there will be 2 feminism 15 markers or 2 ecoligism 15 markers ?

Other people are saying 2 15ms for feminism. I kinda think this too
What nationalism 45 marker do you guys reckon will come up?
What would the key ideas of Liberal Feminism be?

1.Individual as basis for Gender Equality
2.Reformist Methods to give women equal rights
3.Aim to achieve Legal/Political equality for men and women

linked to point 3, there's also the nature of the public/private divide so there's freedom of choice (+ no challenging of patriarchy) in the private sphere and equality in public sphere only
How would you answer: is nationalism progressive or reactionary?
Anyone doing the Unit 4 US Politics exam on Thursday? How are you spending the day?

sitting as an external candidate and i missed the unit 3 exam because i thought it was on the 16th, good game. wont be going uni i guess...
Please can someone tell me how bad it is if I didn't balance the arguments in the New Right question? I said its divided in philosophy - human nature and view of society, as well as attitude to reform and supranationalism, but countered only with albeit a long point, that they are politically compatible and that a strong but minimal state is viable?
Hi guys i find Ecologism really hard to grasp has anyone got any revision documents or pointers that can help me? im sound with the others
Thanks
Guys for 3B..
For the 15 marker on collectivism why and how it's wanted
-I basically discussed Collectivist beliefs and the characteristics linking to human nature and why it is better for us than individualism (vs Darwinism)
-Talked about Marxism and the process of destroying capitalism eg all the economic factors and then how the transition occurs to communism/collectivism
I wrote about a page and a quarter is that ok?

For 15marker on evolutionary road to socialism
-Discussed inevibility of gradualism
-talked about suffrage>more votes>more policies implemented in a lot of detail
-talked how they feel revolution undemocratic and not popular egLeninism and Eurocommunist, reform wanted

Marxism vs anarchism views of state
-Marxist believe it serves society, mirror reflection of society while anarchists believe it's evil and is the problem
-Marxists see use of state in ensuring goal, while anarchists believe it should be destroyed
-Marxists believe the state will simply wither away while anarchists believe it won't just go it will have to be gotten rid of
-on other hand they do see a future of a stateless society

Can u guys tell me if I did alright on these? I felt like I didn't write much only like 1 page and a quarter
Any predictions on politics 4D exam?
For anyone who did the the Anarchism 45 marker on if it's desirable and realistic
The themes of the essay was discussing core anarchist beliefs or strands and discuss why they think it's realistic and good but then u criticise it (mentioning positive and negative Utopianism) my points were:
-Collectivist anarchism very positive view of human nature so collectivist society would work with no state. Conservatives and libs criticise this over positive view of human nature and that people aren't suited to cooperation more to competition
-Anarcho communism explaining all the anarchist beliefs including kropotkin Bakunin saying how it would work etc and it's similar end goal to Marxists. But Marxists criticise because anarchists don't wanna use state eg dictatorship of prols to ensure it, therefore unrealistic expectation
-then talk about anarchists believe in spontaneous change. Say how no plan or technique or use of politics etc makes it unrealistic to achieve anarchic society. Assassinating Alexander II for eg only strengthens state and give negative public opinion
-I talked about proudhons mutualism and said how replacing state with equitable change won't work. Exploitation would occur as humans are self striving and will want profit
-talked about individualist anarchism and anarchy communism said why they believe free market is good and no state is good then discussed the free market will replace the state (supply and demand) courts etc can be private making them fair as they compete for customers rather than based on state agenda.
But said how libs believe state is important eg night watchman state and contract theory as well as criticised stirners egoism
Oh I also discussed syndicalism saying how it was effective and one of only strands that made progress and discussed sorel. Then said how it wasn't achieving anarchic society too much reform not enough spontaneous change or revolution
I wrote about 6 pages

Anyone who has done this can you tell me if all these points in great detail is an A grade answer or correct for that matter
Thanks a lot I'm just worried
For unit 4 nationalism it should be quite easy hopefully it comes up.
Any question it asks will basically just need the same knowledge eg reactionary progressive etc
Hopefully there is ecologism in 45 lol I'd hate having two 15markers.
I'm really hoping there are two feminism 15s and nationalism 45, is it likely?
