guys how do u use transects?? (do we need to know this)

yes, transects are used during systemic sampling to measure the distribution of species along a distance by placing down qudrats are regular constant intervals.

and used in random sampling to create a set of axis of which you use a random number generator calculator to obtain a set of co-ordinates to place the quadrats down.

Can someone explain marking point 3? I'm not sure why the B-cell acts as an APC to itself rather than act as an APC to a T-helper cell as it releases cytokines to help the b-cell divide.
This is the June 2014 reserve paper btw

my teacher explained this really briefly and had said that B cells can engulf pathogens and act as APC themselves too by the antigen binding to B cell receptors.. then the normal process occurs

whereby:
lysosome fuses with the antigen encased by the vesicle and releases lysozymes resulting in hydrolysis
the antigen binds to MHC which binds to the surface of the cell and acts as an APC

i have explained this above but its typical edexcel adding something weird, B cells acting as APC is some what controversial in some studies i have read :smile:

There is no exam paper for Jan 2016 that isn't IAL. Normal A Level exams no longer take place in Jan, just June.

Just do all the previous past papers and you'll be fine. There may be some things that come up that haven't done previously, but just revising past questions is enough to get you an A/A* provided you get them spot on.
