I got something like 55.1J for the q=mcAT question but I don't know if its right (that number might not be exactly what I got but it's what I remember)

That's what I got as well, I thought it looked wrong when I did it but I double checked and got the same answer.

Ohh **** yeah. Now I remember. How many marks would we loose for that? Did it ask for the energy from 1g or from the 0.8g?

You'd be lucky to get 1 mark.

For the titration question , i said to put the alkali in the burette and acid in the flask does it make a difference?

Shouldn't make a difference no

Damn that was stupid. My brain just thought "grams=ethanol" lol. I will have done the calculation right but with the wrong mass.

Its Rb because in group 1 (alkali metals), the Boiling point and Melting Point decrease as you go down. Rb was the last Alkali Metal so its the lowest Boiling Melting/Point.

Rubidium is a liquid at room temperature but fluorine is a gas.
Anyone have a full ordered mark scheme?

On the specific heat capacity question I think I got an answer of around 55.104? Didn't you have to do 0.8 x 4.2 x (38.4-22.0) since that was the temperature change?

thats what i got!!!!!!!
Original post by nisha.sri
Same but i got 2 thousand something wtf ?!

oh :s-smilie: Maybe it was something with your calculator...? I stored the values that I got in letters and then minused the letters away from each other :/

0.8g was the mass of the ethanol burnt but that was not needed in the question you needed to use the 50g of water. You'll probably still get 1 or 2 marks.
