If you don't mind me asking, what is the wording of this email? Have they made you a formal offer in the email, or just told you they've completed the checks? Thank you.

Just had an email confirming I have a place on the ICAS pilot! (in Croydon)
Hey, could anybody answer the following questions I have?

1. What are the typical working/study hours per week
2. What day of the month are salaries paid
3. Does anybody know any good websites to follow in relation to the profession
4. Are we considered band T until the end of the training period (4 years) or does that change when we have the salary increase at the midway point?

I can help with two of your points:

*we will be paid on the last working day of each month

*trainees remain on band T throughout the 4 years until successful completion of the programme. Although as you say after the first 2 years pay is uplifted roughly equivalent to SEO

I wonder how much more the fees will be...

Might be worth asking about. But then again might be a big ask trying to get that sorted before starting in September, especially with it being a pilot and all...

East Croydon Station seems to be a commuter station, if you can get there it's only a 5/10min walk to the office.

I've accepted ICAS Croydon. I'm commuting from North East London. I'm not looking forward to that.

I'd be interested in that. Can't imagine HMRC would give any time or money for it though.

I may be commuting from Maidenhead. Not looking forward to that either so perhaps moving is the best option. It's a shame we probably won't have detailed timetable information until we start the course, because it would be nice to know say if we get 1 day per week to study at home, which would make the commute more tolerable

Yes. A timetable would be useful and dates for the office welcome events!

I've heard it's in the region of £32k-33k, but I haven't seen any official details about it.

I've been thinking about this, but reckon it's probably more sensible to start on the ITP first to get an idea of workload, and then maybe take additional modules in the future if time and finances permit.

I believe it's 27 hours work, 10 hours study per week. I'm not sure though.

Your contracted hours are 37 a week. Most of the time you will have 10 hours a week allocated to self study and one day (7.4 hours) in class, but this can vary and a timetable will give you those details when you start.

The mid point is in that range, but it is currently not guaranteed. All recent intakes have been uplifted to the mid point but it is agreed as part of the annual pay deal, so there is a chance they won't do it in future. I don't think the union would at all happy however if a group didn't get an increase at mid point!
