If you got the wrong value for lambda in question 6 but did the next part correctly (with the wrong value of lambda ofc) how many marks would you lose?
Can someone please explain how you do q6 so frustrated lost all 13 marks on it

I recall one year it was 71. Did you think the paper was hard, easy or average? And compared to last year's which was 70 or 71.

3P = 12.5R + 12.5(40g)
P = 12.5R - 12.5(40g)
2P = 25(40g) = 1000g
P = 500g = 4900N


It was 800kg and sin theta=1/20 not 1/2.

Yeah just hoping that error won't cost me the A*. I also left lambda as 30/7 and not to 3sf don't know if that'll cost me a mark though.

It's a positive constant, not a measure of any dimension/unit
Ok so I've got 95 UMS in D2 from last year, and ~60 raw marks in both FP2 & M2.
Hoping an A* is still possible if I smash S2 ☺️ what do people think? x

Yes, although unfortunately it’s wrong. I think you might have done the same thing as me and made a mistake working out the CoM of the triangle from the line AD.

I multiplied the height of the triangle ( 3√(2)/2 ) by to end up with a seemingly nice √2. I should have multiplied it by ⅓.

Using that result, did you get 105º for the angle?

Just saying I got root2 as being the triangle's CoM and ended up with the right answers are you sure you didn't go wrong somewhere else?

You need 3 A2 modules to average 90 (all those you have named count). D2 FP2 and M2 wouldn't get you an A* . You need to score quite high in S2 to get an A*

Ah so 30/7 is right then? My friend told me I had to put it to 3sf.
