I thought the exam was alright today, I think I've got 67/68, do you think this'll be an A?

Stupid question.....

I don't know I just do. I've always scored higher on fp3 plus it's more fun.

Tbh I was being a bit of a hypocrite since I enjoy M3 way more than M2...

I'm the same :biggrin:. FP3 is probably my favorite FM unit alongside M4 maybe.

Same I love FP3. I love vectors, reduction formulae and loci. They require more thinking. Then again that's outside of exam conditions. I'm terrible under exam conditions :/
Edit: and of course matrices are the worst not hard but time consuming (but I like plane transformations)

Haha wish I did M3 instead of D1.
i just realised i wrote 4900 N instead of W for p, do i lose the mark?

No I don't think they penalise for an incorrect unit 😌

P is the value, it told you the unit so no.

The mass was 800kg and sintheta was 1/20

thanks for that. got confused with a question where theta was 30 degrees, no idea why
I hated that exam:frown::frown::frown:
I had no idea what to do for the moments question. I took moments about A and substituted F = Psin30? and R = Pcos30+ mgcos30 or something like that. It didnt look right. Plus for the answer of d I got 30m!!! which was longer than the rod lol.

How many method marks will I get for that question assuming I subbed in F = uR and worked out sintheta and costheta

Also, the lamina question really confused me. i think I got the wrong coordinates for the centre of masses of one of the shapes which probably changed my final answers. How many method marks will I get for that.

I wish I did anything else apart from D2 :frown::frown: its not even maths lol
I got the wrong value for centre of mass, in part b for finding the angle my answer was wrong based on my part a but my working was correct. Is there error carried forward? if not how many marks will i get out of 4 ??
What do you guys reckon the grade boundaries for A and A*?

Did M2 papers all the way from 2004 to 2015 and Solomon but this paper was difficult. What's the correct a Answer for 1b?

Thanks

I have a week to learn it from scratch :frown:

How many marks lost if I never wrote q5 in correct form ?? Resolved forces didn't do moments?
Q5 said write in terms d g theta
I didn't do moments therefore never got d
But my R and P was still correct how many marks lost??

Answers to edexcel m2 uk paper
1 a) 4ms-2 b) 11/3
2) P =4900 R = 784 d= 53.1
3) c= 10/3
4) x =0.83m, angle 113.6
5) a) friction = (5gdsinthetacostheta)/4
Reaction= (5g/4)(4-dcos^2theta)
b) d = 2.56m
6)a) lambda = 30/7 b) speed 10.4 angle 73.6
7) a) Va = 3u/20 Vb = 21u/10 b) e=1/14 c) no since moving at same speed in same direction

Oh no! i got power as 2450. I must've halved or forgotten to multiply by 2 somewhere. and this when carried on meant my R was wrong as well and my distance was 106m. Will i get error carry forward? how many marks do you think i would lose?

In question 6bi, is the question measured clockwise?

In question 6bi, is the question measured clockwise? As in would 73.6 from i be the same as 163.6 from j
