AQA A2 Spanish 2016

My friend had it somewhere but I can't seem to get it off her at the moment! Sorry! In my honest opinion, I recommend just going for the translations and thats it.

With getting the difference between themes and ideas, I always try to think of it as "okay, what's his main idea about this topic?" So for instance the themes I always write about are the power of nature (Lorca's idea being there is no God but nature is the determining force in destiny); family honour (I decided Lorca had negative ideas about family honour in that it creates pressure and weighs down on the children and their parents) and the role of women in society (his idea here being about all the different types and complexities of women).

With regards to "tiene valor hoy" I always link this back to his ideas (and therefore his messages - especially women and honour) and then also the technical impact of Lorca which has continually influenced Spanish theatre.

Does anyone know how I can improve my translations? My level of spanish is ok but i can never seem to get more than 12/20. Also when translating from english to spanish do we need to include articles?

Oh okay, so I guess its a more specific version of the theme... for example in ours Women is a theme, but his idea might be more about the fact that there is deep injustice in the world between men and women?

Are they really strict on accents for the English - Spanish translation???

I guess I would try looking at the general concept of the sentence first, see where its going, translate it into how you would personally say that sentence and then go back through the sentence to translate each word, it seems to help with arranging the words and checking for gender agreement and stuff Hope that helps?

Yeah they are, if for example you don't put the accent on the e for hubiéramos, that phrase will be wrong, however, if the rest of it is right then you could still get the full 2 marks since they are split into 4 phrases with one phrase = half a mark, but since you can't have half marks they round it up. So, if you lose half a mark, you can still get the full 2 since its rounded up!

Anyone got advice on how to improve essays by tomorrow?? I'm at work until 10pm so probably won't have time to revise anymore, but can never seem to get more than 30/40 on essay 😅

Those who have done the specimen paper, what kind of marks did you get? I completed the paper, but I have no idea if it went well or not because there aren't any grade boundaries!

I just did it too! The listenings weren't that bad, but the translations were a bit annoying with like losing a whole mark if you forget 'a' or 'unos' or something like that, but I actually found this around the same level of difficulty as the actual past papers - maybe it's just me
