I didn't square root my initial speed on question one ffs, do they ECF?

Yeah physics is quite nice with ecf
Original post by screwedmofo
how though?

sorry the V is 5.78 velocity at D is 3.45 something. Height for second bounce is 0.6m
130.8 for shc anyone?

For S2 mass, I used keplers third law and rearranged.
M = (4pisquared x (3.6*10^12)^3)/(G x (86400x365x4)^2)
=1.73*10^33

Yeah I got a very similar value. 1.03x10^33, but I combined the two equations from previous questions. I think both ways work too.

I definitely agree. I really liked last years paper. Plus this year had no long questions which I usually prefer. I've given up hope on this. Just hope G485 is amazing.

The really easy stuff, the gravitational force questions, were the one thing they decided to **** up and make into a symbols only mess.

Yep got the same answer

I thought max KE was 80mJ?

me too, no idea where they got 50 from.
I struggled for so long on the very first question trying to understand the graph I rushed everything else. Can someone explain how you get the energy to use to find c in the pellets question?

Q1:velocity is 5.38. D is 3.45. Height is 0.6m

broo i got that please tell me its right

Yeah.

That's what I used, but no, because there was residual epe, it was epe max - epe min = ke max

Yep! Didn't seems right for Lead but oh well. Lots of people got it.

I got 969 too for the fireman question

That's what I got as well
For the assumptions for the lead, I said no loss to surrounding environment jadada. Then said that all gpe is converted to ke and not transferred into other forms or used to deform the pellets, then crossed it out and wrote that all pellets fall 1.2 m. Regretting crossing it out now, what do you think?

How did you work out D?

Damn, I botched up my graph then. Hopefully there will be full ecf for following calculations..

There should be full ecf

Max KE is 50 Because the graph started at 30 mj so 80-30=50

I got 50 because max PE was 80 and min PE was 30.

Why did you get 80?

I got power of 41.

For the assumption I said that to assume there is little time between inversions on the tube
