So you know for the matric question were we suppose to multiply the numerater and denominator of the first matric by 4 or were we suppose to multipy just the numerator by 4?

These were matrices not fractions!! You had to multiply both the top and bottom parts by 4 I believe. I think I got a=3 and b= -20 (or 20, not sure what I put)

You had to use the trig identity: sin^2x + cos^2x = 1. Put in the x value (or theta value) and then solve for cos, eventually ending up with the +/- square root of 5/6 and as it was an obtuse angle it had to be a negative value, ending up with -5/6. XD

Oh ****, I wrote 5/6, would I lose a mark or more than 1 mark?

I got that too and I don't even know how to do matrices lmao so don't trust me...

YES! thank god i got the same 3 and -20
Can someone explain that question about K to me please?

A matrix doesn't have numerators or denominators to speak. It was a scalar multiplication meaning four times everything in the matrix.

You had to work out K. You had to work it out at the point where it touched the X axis, and then work out what the Y value would be without K. Then as the value of Y was -9 and the curve stopped at the X axis, K had to be 9 to make it 0.

Seemed like a reasonable paper, the one about the obtuse angle was a tough one though. I couldn't answer that one.

I managed to figure it out, but put the solution for an acute angle :frown: I think I'll still pick up most of the marks

Oh ffs.
I knew x = 0 lol and that's it lmao for the tangent.
I was thinking like you can't factorise this crap because it's got k ...

I decided to out 5 for that one..with no working out what so ever...

how did people do the last q? i used the cosine rune but then was stumped after a few more steps

Cosine rule.
Cos P = 1/3.
Use the rule, you find u have to do 4/12 to get 1/3.
So, you do 13n^2 - 4n^2 = 9n^2
That's w^2 so w = 3n.
w = 3n same as the other side, so the triangle is isoceles.
What did u guys put for the infinity question...?
