If you google grade boundaries for a specific year theres often one showing 90% conversion points too.

Coursework is marked out of 18
Grade boundaries for maths are so high.... make a couple of small silly mistakes and you've lost your A* grade..

only 14, so the most I'll be able to get from C3 is likely 96 UMS.

Would have been nice to then be able to get 80 UMS or so in C4 if I'd got more like 16-17 in the coursework, but hey I guess 85 still won't be too bad

Hi Jack, would you please be able to tell me how to do Q8(ii) in the Jan 2012 paper (http://www.mei.org.uk/files/papers/2012_Jan_c3.pdf)? Many thanks.
I hope it's like last year's - that was an absolute beauty...

There aren't too many tips I can think of, but just get used to writing numbers using algebra and then manipulating them to get the result required.
Even = 2n
Odd = 2n+1
Consecutive = n, n+1, n+2 etc
Remember that in any 3 consecutive numbers at least 1 is divisible by 2 and 3.
Rational numbers can be expressed p/q where p and q are integers.

And even though it may sound stupid/obvious writing it, stuff like odd x odd = odd etc. can get you marks.

Proof by counter example are often very easy since you can just keep trying things until you find something that works.
