Yeah I got something ln in it to, it was by parts and u was lnx so there must have been a ln in the answer.

? Point P was on the asymptote I thought - given asymptote is x=-4 and y=1/2x was equation of tangent, I thought it was (-4, -2)... Oh dear, I really hope I haven't ****ed that one up as well...

I think I got the same as you

No you're right the line was y=0.5x and the coordinates were (-4,-2)

a was 1 and b was -1

right, what did everyone do for Q2?

set it to e^2x-e^x-2=0 than solve it
(edited 7 years ago)
The y co-ord of Q was I right to just plug 1/4lnk into the equation? I ended up with 2k^1/2 which seems strange
what does ke^lnk go too? i thought it was k^2 lol

I got x as ln2

yeah your right, but its was ke^-0.5lnk, which came to k^0.5

I got 0.5k-0.5

Anybody get 19/12 for the area question in the last part of question 8?

yep yep

It would be k^2 but it ke^-lnx which comes to k^1/2
How the hell did you guys find out the equation of the tangent?
