Really ? So A* would be like 71/75 ish

For question 4a (the one with the modulus graph), for y = 0, I wrote x = 0.5ln(6.25), not noticing that 6.25 can be rooted to 2.5. How many marks was that? Will I get full marks for that one, or do those questions typically require a simplified answer?

Also, how did people find that compared to the June 2015 and June 2013 paper? Those are the ones I didn't do for prep, so I can't judge

Definitely easier than the 2015 paper
I split into 2Cos2x/Sin2x and used to Cos^2x - Sin^2x for cos double angle, along with dividing and simplifying the Sin double angle. Have a try? It should work.

Was anyone able to prove that the root of g(x) was α=1.473 to 3dp?

Yeah you do use the equation 4e2x - 25 - 2x - 43. That would give you an a positve and negative answer. Around -0.08 and 0.08 i think it was.

Anyone have an idea of what the boundary for an A* will be like?

Anyone know what an A* is usually?

69-70

100% doubt that, it'll be similar to last year.

Seriously you might be surprised most of my friends missed the grades for their uni but all got in. Just relax and try your hardest for C4 :smile:

what were their offers?
Think I could of potentially got 100% finally after dreadful further maths exams

Proof for tanx question. Couldn't do part b) in exam but just realised how to :frown:, so will post in a bit

I used the double angle for sin and cos and used tan2x as a fraction of that and simplified. It seemed to work.
For the question with the simplifying fractions (I think it was 8), does this method work?

(x^4 + x^3 - 3x^2 + 7x - 6)/(x^2 + x - 6) = x^2 + A + B/(x-2)

If x = 0,

-6/-6 = A - B/2

If x = 1

0 = 1+A- B
B = A+1

1 = A + (A+1)/(-2)
-2 = -2A + A + 1
-3 = -A
A = 3
So B = 3+1 = 4
