If I put -root5 < x < root 5

Do I get any marks at all??

Im a ****ing spac I dont know why I did that

thats what i did. i don't see why it wouldn't + the question was 1 mark

Does anyone have the paper? If not, can someone tell me, if you remember, whether they gave you the range for the "sketch arcsinx" question? As they gave the domain but I can't remember whether they gave the range

the range was given as between pi/2 and minus pi/2. the domain was plus or minus 1
Will I lose any marks for writing ln(5/2) as 1/2ln(25/4)
does anyone have the workings to question 8 a, where you had to prove an identity equalled cotx?

isn't the solution for 5i) 0.1609 also valid?

No, boundary was pi/4<x<pi/2

For question 2b how many marks would I have lost if I didnt put dy/dx =0 and put it was > then solved it to get x>squrt(5) and x>-squrt(5)

and how many marks do you think find ind the asynmtote is worth

For 5i what did people do with the sin and cos?

Also part 2a is wrong, -4x^2-20=-4(x^2+5) so -4/x^2+5

thought u were wrong about 2a there is -4x^2+20 not -20

No you shouldnt drop any marks for that since they are the same value

Past grade boundaries for A and A*:

Jan 2009: 60
Jun 2009: 67
Jan 2010: 59
Jun 2010: 62 (68 A*)
Jan 2011: 61 (68 A*)
Jun 2011: 65 (70 A*)
Jan 2012: 65 (70 A*)
Jun 2012: 64 (69 A*)
Jan 2013: 62 (68 A*)
Jun 2013: 50 (57 A*) (01), 61 (67 A*) (01R)
Jun 2014: 60 (66 A*) (01), 60 (67 A*) (01R)
Jun 2015: 59 (65 A*)

Average: 61.1 (66.8 A*)

Today's paper was definitely not as difficult as June 2013. The polls show that people thought last year's paper was slightly more difficult.

I'd guess similar boundaries to June 2014; A 60, A* 67.

I think people are mixed whether or not this paper was harder than last years. Last years did have a killer trig question, but did also have some easy questions wheras this year even the simple topics had fairly tricky questions (q5). It was also significantly longer and more of the questions required writing our lots of lines of working than last years paper. It did have a copy paste question but it was only worth 7 marks or so.

My guess is A - 58, A* - 65, 100 UMS - 73. If not 58 then 59 for the A.
Does anyone know how many marks each question was worth

Possibly, I believe it asked for simplest form
Who can remember what question 5 actually was? My minds gone blank

LHS:
2/tan2A +tanA
2(1-tan^A)/2tanA +tanA
(1-tan^2A+tan^2A)/tanA
1/tanA

I can't remember but if anyone else can, did it ask to state in simplest form or something, if I didn't then what u got is right (I put same as you)

LHS:
2/tan2A +tanA
2(1-tan^A)/2tanA +tanA
(1-tan^2A+tan^2A)/tanA
1/tanA
Alternatively:
LHS = 2cos2A/sin2A + sinA/cosA
= 2cos2A/2sinAcosA + sinA/cosA
= (cos2A + sin^2A)/sinAcosA = (cos^2A - sin^2A + sin^2A)/sinAcosA
= (cos^2A)/sinAcosA = cotA

I think we would've included the 4, don't worry ahaha. I couldn't fully remember the question - I think it was tan4x but the 3/4 is all I needed to know. thank god

But it is right is t it the tan4x=3/4? Because after dividing by 4 I wasn't getting a value between pi/4 and pi/2 gosh I made some silly errors in that exam

no it didn't, it just wanted the answer which should be correct

Here is the proof, each step represents a possible mark.
For 2b if I only wrote +sqrt5 how many marks would I lose?
