Does this explain the manosphere?

all this nasty stuff about unsuccessful males can lead to real life tragedies:

On the contrary, Rodgers is a posterboy for the manosphere and a perfect example of how their message of male entitlement to sex and blaming all their woes on feminists etc leads to dangerous psychopathologies

Totally, I've only been finding out more recently about the alt-right world. It does seem to tie into a resurgence of white superiority, misogynist and conspiracist worldviews.

On the question of divorce laws, it probably can't be denied that if you go back 15 or 20 years, men who wanted custody often didn't get a fair hearing. But English courts have changed beyond recognition on that score; women do not get automatic or preferential custody of children any more.

One issue around marriage laws I did see these people referring to was that they felt adultery should be outlawed and men who "take our women" should be punished. They also demanded "pre-marital purity". Other "incels" demanded that the government should provide sexual partners for them. It's almost as though they're so achingly insecure that they believe (perhaps with some justification) that the only way they could get a woman to be with them is if the woman was forced. The difference is that they're wrong about the cause of women rejecting them; it's not the feminist-socialist-SJW industrial complex conspiracy, it's their own individual lack of personality/attractiveness etc

I would highly recommend Reggie Yates' series on modern men in Britain. One of the episodes is on men's rights advocates and is what got me considering this subject. The other two episodes are also fantastic though.

As I said above though, while some of the more moderate men's rights advocates do make some valid points about examples of injustice/discrimination existing, they always exist because of initial sexism towards women. I had limited sympathy with the more moderate members until I realised this.

He was alive. He is a posterboy and an example. You can re-read my post, it makes sense and is grammatically accurate.

It is an interesting one, as you can find instances where men typically have less favourable results/conditions/rights than women do, but thus far I've yet to find a situation where the reason that situation exists isn't ultimately because of men's sexism in the first place.

Your example about divorce favouring a woman, if there is any actual discrimination here (which I don't think there is), then this is a direct consequence of women being expected to bring up the children and not work while the man is the breadwinner. Remove this stereotype and there is no longer a reason it should "favour" anyone.

I question with the entire basis of this. Often men want to continue working full time and prefer to hand over custody to the woman.

I don't want to use terms like Alpha and Beta, but the previous patriarchal structure of social conservatism definitely favoured men who are ''Beta''.

You have the woman who could never hope to have a career so she is tied to an ugly boring man who provides for her. Due to old fashioned notions regarding virginity and innocence, she cannot divorce him or she'll be seen as dirty and unworthy. Now we have a society with a much wider more variable set of possible situations, if you're handsome and exciting the world is much better, if you're a neckbeard, not so much :teehee:

It's cool bro, I know you're timid so I won't hold it against you if you can't stand behind what you say.

Right, what they really want is women to be stuck with them for life. Whining about the men who actually want custody, who as you astutely observe are few and far between, is just an excuse to complain about going back to the good old days where women did as you said or they got a black eye.

Don't get mad. I know my post upset you and made you emotional, and thus you had to lash out (inarticulate and predictable as your rebuke was). But don't you realise that in doing so you make it clear to everyone else that you also are an embittered fugly virgin like the men to whose defence you leapt?

Are you still upset? Chill bro. Try not to be so emotional.

In fairness, I can understand you are anxious that if you responded with full words and sentences you would look inarticulate and stupid by comparison. But I don't hold it against you

This 100%. For many of them the threat of violence against women isn't even implicit; it's right up front and they aren't shy to say it.

He's got a face like a scalded ballsack, all the physical charisma of a hemorrhoid and a child molestery look about him.

Surely it's a mistake that a neckbeard who looks like he spends his days and nights in his Mum's basement masturbating to pictures of women dressed as a fantasy orc can be offering advice on the fairer sex to other men.

I think what I found most discombobulating was that he wrote blogs with titles like "Fat girls don't deserve to be loved", which is bizarre given his own issues in that area.

I can't hep but feel a bit of hypocrisy. Admittedly I don't really know anything about this 'Red Pill Movement' nor have I really read any of their articles. However, how are your rather crude comments about them and the way they look any different from their views about fat girls? I don't think two wrongs make a right. There are many men who look very much like these guys and yet don't hold such abhorrent views, yet you seem to be equating that looking similar to these guys would seem to make them end up the same.

Rodgers was openly anti-PUA and thought being nice entitled you to pussy. That is the epitome of blue pill.

These guys and the feminists should be sent to the gulags

Together

Maybe their extreme views will cancel out and they can become functioning members of society.
Similar to the concept of an 'alpha male' it's a childish, narrow view of the world propagated by a false understanding of how people tend to work.
*Shrug*

Men suffering is men's fault? What.

Men don't have bluetooth in their dicks where everyone can communicate with each other.

Your statement is like saying, "Black people are discriminated against by police for a reason, they commit more crimes".

Do you agree with that? Perhaps you are an advocate for discrimination, I'm not sure.

In the sense that he believed it was a scam that didn't work. While there is some truth to that, it's very different from finding it repugnant for any reason of principle.
Original post by Thutmose-III
In the past I haven't really got involved in this "red pill" crap because the whole thing is toxic and I'm gay so I don't really care. But I had to laugh when a friend clued me on to two of the "manosphere" big wigs, which prompted me to research a little about the "movement". And suddenly it all made sense; why they are so desperately unhappy and bitter against women, why they act generally like complete losers.

Now keep in mind these two bozos below are constantly talking about being an "alpha" male, how they bang loads of women, how women shouldn't be allowed to own property or vote or get a university education. I give you Exhibit 1, Matt Forney

He's got a face like a scalded ballsack, all the physical charisma of a hemorrhoid and a child molestery look about him. Presumably he channeled all his rage at female rejection into a misogynistic feedback loop of low self-esteem and hatred that further reduces his prospects to have sexual relations with a woman.

Matt Forney is apparently a big cheese in the "manosphere" world. He regularly writes articles about how women are to be treated (badly, he tells us; they love it apparently) and how men can increase their prospects with the opposite sex by calling women retards and denying that sex requires consent. Tbh even using the ludicrous standards of the manosphere world, Forney looks weak, passive, effeminate and gross.

Exhibit 2 is Dean Esmay, another player in the manosphere world

Surely it's a mistake that a neckbeard who looks like he spends his days and nights in his Mum's basement masturbating to pictures of women dressed as a fantasy orc can be offering advice on the fairer sex to other men.

I'm genuinely curious what proportion of men are into this subculture. None of my straight guy friends are into this stuff so I don't really have anyone to ask IRL. But having dipped my toe in to this subculture and seeing the sort of weirdos these people look up to, it only confirms my previous impressions.

I find the Manosphere a bizarre place ranging between absolutely foul and just plain ridiculous, and I have to admit I do find it quite amusing when self-proclaimed alpha males are clearly losers in real life. That said, I don't want to just take the piss out of their looks. It's not their looks that made them misogynistic dicks, they made choices to be like that.

The main point is he was very against self-improvement and believed he was entitled to pussy without having to do anything. That is the polar opposite to what red pill/PUA mentality entails.
