However, you might have Jewish ancestry which is quite common in Europe - this could allow you. Alternatively, you could marry a lovely Jewish girl and gain residency that way.

You don't have to, it's just the law allows any Jew to get citizenship quite easily. There are plenty of other legal ways to do so
