I want the EU to be destroyed. Nothing would please me more if Putin invaded parts of the EU.

An actually justified point so I see. I was expecting the usual "to many immigrants stealing are jobs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1"

In Sheffield, the BBC interviewed numerous working class people, for example, market traders. The consensus was that they hadn't expected a Leave vote to actually mean leave would happen.

Ebbw Vale voted Leave (despite having the biggest EU regional aid in the country) mainly (according to the Guardian this morning) because "we don't like the government". As in many other working class areas, the vote was wrongly seen as a referendum on Cameron and Osborne. The people in these areas who voted Leave are going to find out soon that the alternatives are much, much worse.

In parts of the Home Counties, according to reports on Radio 4 yesterday, voters thought we were under direct rule from Brussels. "We got rid of the Germans controlling our taxes", was one comment. Voters in many areas with no immigrant presence said that immigration was their chief concern. UKIP has clearly officialised racism and made it broadly acceptable, especially in traditional Tory and rural areas.

Some Leave voters in Manchester, according to the Manchester Evening News, did not in some cases realise we were voting to leave Europe, they thought the vote was something to do with the football according to one report.

A lot of that was down to the weakness in the way the British governments of the time negotiated. However, at least you have legitimate grievances, unlike many of the Leave voters who simply 'can't stand all the immigrants' even when they live in areas with extremely low immigration. Striking that London, which has the highest, was Remain by a wide margin - can't all be middle class liberals.

I am interested, this being a student website, if there is any correlation between asking for/not asking for a second referendum and asking/not asking for a remark of your A levels. Points of principle are being quoted and I was wondering if they held true across the board, i.e. being satisfied/not being satisfied with the first result you got.

There is a 100 more reasons I want out of the EU but that is the main one. I guess you now know where all my family comes from now. They where dock workers and engineers. Then along comes the EU with its red tape and destroys dozens of coastal towns .....................

Then this year Bob Geldof and the London Luvvies come and give my brethren 2 finger salutes. There is no wonder some Eel fisherman threatened to ram the IN campaign boat. Instead they got a good soaking and a load of broken amp equipment.

I would of done a lot more than that. I would of got on the IN boat and chucked Bob Geldof in the river.

The petition has no legal standing. At best it can require Parliament to consider (and not necessarily even have) a debate, that's all.

I'm sure there are quite a few mickey mouse signatures. But out of 3 million the vast majority will be genuine.

I would love Putin to invade some of those places, heck, I would be happy if Putin invaded Brighton and London, I may even offer to help

It's not just remainers that petitioned. Many of those who voted leave are now regretting their choice as they feel terribly misinformed and deceived(e.g. Farage backtracking and saying that the £350 million pounds that we supposedly send to the EU would not be going to the NHS instead-contradicting what the leave campaign previously claimed)
