With DP, would you get penalised for doing your states the opposite way round to the mark scheme? -for example, if the context is number of machines in storage already, is it ok to do it in the order 0 then 1 then 2 or should it be 2 then 1 then 0 (as the eg in the mark scheme shows). Or is there a rule on the order states should be done in?

thats fine
For activity networks, when doing flow-augmenting routes, are you allowed to do a forward flow and back flow down the same arc or is this not allowed? Tried it on a paper just now and it didn't work out.
Anyone got any hints on how to start dyanmic programmings?

i dont understand what you mean by doing a forward flow and a back flow

well seen as that question is from an actual exam paper... yes

What would we do if there were 4 products instead of me, would the middle bit of the production table be the same structure? Thanks!

look at the question and determine the following things

what should my destination be (commonly zero)
how high can my action be
how high can my state be.

also write what each column means, next to state for example, write how many units you have at the start

E.g if there is an arc DF.
One flow augmenting route has a flow in the -> direction.
Another flow augmenting route on the same network has a flow in the <- direction (opposite). So one of them is a backflow.

I'm wondering if you can do this, or if you have to stick to one direction once you start flow augmenting.

if there were 4 products, your second and third stage should be similar

yh as long as they are separate flow augmenting routes

nervous, failed my fp1, got 100ums in m1, so basically my entire grade depends on this exam

If you got 100 I think you should be able to pull it back nicely. Good luck bud

If you're given a network it's normally straightforward. I don't know if this is too helpful but:
Otherwise Stage is normally either

Lol.
Have you done past papers? I hardly have
Lol learnt Ch 1 and simplex tableu so far.
What normally carries the most marks in the exam?

In the June 2012 paper q3, in the second stepping stone method are there mutiple answers?

Dynamic programming usually has the most marks.
