I'm learning German and I need somebody to practice with!

Hi everybody, first post ever so I'm sorry if this is in the wrong place!

I have never studied German in a school or college, but I'm teaching it to myself. I'm doing well (past the basics and so forth) but this is incredibly difficult when nobody around me has any knowledge of the language, there's nobody to ask for help and nobody to have even basic conversations with.

I'm looking for somebody of any skill level I can have a Facebook chat with every once in a while who is interested in learning German as well, or wants to improve their English. It doesn't even have to be real time, a few messages every couple of days even would be fantastic.

This would really help me improve my grammar and vocabulary in a much less painful way than hours of textbooks, translations and DuoLingo :smile:

Ich lerne Deutsch seit 7 Jarhen. Ich habe angefangen, als ich im Jahr 7 in der Schule war, und jetzt habe ich gerade mein Deutsch A-level beendent.

Ein Ding, das du nützlich finden könnest ist Family Guy auf Deutsch zu schauen, besonders wenn du sie auf Englisch schon kennen; hier: https://bs.to/serie/Family-Guy/

Auch könntest zu beim 'Deutschen Welle' YouTube-Channel abbonieren - sie produzieren viele kleine Nachrichtberichten, auf Deutsch natürlich und ich denke sie haben auch ein Channel, das sich nur auf Deutschlernern konzentriert.

I actually understood lots of that, cheered me up actually, must ahve made some progress :smile: I'll take your advice, it's much appreciated.

Thank you for helping me, it doesn't matter German isn't your native language at all, in a way it's even better.
You can join the German society on tsr
Did German A level and then did it further as optional modules in first and second year of uni. Also proof read some German for a few months as part of my job. Happy to help if I can, I'm a little rusty and want to get back into it which is why I'm in Austria ATM :tongue:*
