Have you ever had a job in retail? If you have, you would know that the people you see stacking shelves have other tasks to complete. All of those tasks that they do throughout the entire day can be tiring.

As long as you have legal work and you work diligently, it's an honest days work. Hence they get an honest days pay.

Yes I have worked for a popular high street chain, tbh I have more respect for retail workers then for estate agents, my god are estate agents lazy

I've never heard such judgemental, misinformed, snobbishness in my life.
Thank you to some of you that had the intelligence and conviction to see how disgusting these views are and spoke up.
To those who do look down on others, you should feel ashamed of yourselves. None of us have the right to for look down on anyone in society. I hope that you realise someday how immature and narcissistic your views are and change your attitude. Alas, I fear that you will never grow up and become a decent human being.

Sounds interesting. What do these 21 year olds that are on £50,000 that you know of do for a living?

They either own their own tech companies or are Investment bankers
Lot's of people do jobs which other folk wouldn't like to do or would find boring. They are nevertheless important jobs. Some people want a less demanding job because they are getting their mental stimulation elsewhere.. Think Lowry and his rent collecting.

Do you have a right to look down on terrorists?

No I look down on 18+ year olds who study a liberal arts degree, think that real work is beneath them and think they'll be high rolling millionaires for some reason. Someone working in retail is probably more financially solvent as well. Being £40K plus in the gutter with a liberal arts degree is awful

100% agree. At least they're going out to work.

*rolls eyes*
paedophiles, terrorists, murderers, child abusers etc.* yes work away look down them if you please, but looking down on others because of their status, their job, their education, how much money they do or do not make -the ordinary person in the street or in this case stacking the supermarket shelves, is pathetic.

I agree. Just being pedantic.
Of course not.
Nope the only people I look down upon in terms of work are serial benefit scrounges, Full Time Mummy's, Middle/Upper Class Champagne socialist young people who take degrees in Art, Philosophy etc... and contribute nothing to society, Celebrities born into wealth who do **** all except take Instagram selfies and pretend to be a model, chat **** and have an inflated sense of importance (I.e Cara Delavigne, Joey Essex, Jaden Smith, Kardashians etc...)

I have never said anything about being a well paid city roller, bit it I the truth, I once worked a minimum wage job n it felt like slavery, but I was 18.
Making less than 10.00 an hour is disgusting

Odd: I assumed that your current job consisted entirely of posting on TSR; and that it must be minimum-wage, since you were so unforgivably, mind-warpingly abysmal at it. Who knew.

No.
No. A job is a job. What's wrong with working in retail at 30? You don't know if that person already has a higher paying job and just wants a extra side job to roll in extra cash. Maybe that person is paying for college or somethin. Retail jobs aren't super duper high paying but its a job and people need to work.
No, it's rude to judge people when it comes to things like that.

Stacking tinned items is not an honest days work.

Well it's not dishonest...
and where would you be without the shelf stackers? Falling over the tins with every step lol and too good to pick em up.

No, at least they're working and not scrounging off benefits.

Lol you can't get benefits without job experience as far as I know...the idea they're lazy is mythical
Stuff like JSA, ESA, tax credits, being on the sick...they require work experience to know what pay go off of to accommodate, or they have to truly be ill and unable to work. :yy: So in the meantime they might be unemployed but to get the benefits they had to fit requirements such as work or they can't work at all. Or they're currently working but need their wages supplemented because they can't live off what they make. So they can't truly be lazy.

Not gonna say there's not ppl scrounging to see what they could get. I know ppl who intentionally got preggers as minors -____-

But lazy is the wrong word. Lecherous maybe.

I look down on 30 plus year olds on minimum wage.
An adult cannot survive on a minimum wage

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.
Do you also look down on fat people who go to the gym?
