Hey, don't be mean. He's named after a known nonce anyway.

In terms of work, salary is the endgame. Of course, life is much more than work, but considering it's an unfortunate fact we have to work near 40 hours a week whether we like it or not, we all strive to maximise our earnings. And then of course use it to further our happiness (e.g. If you like travelling then you need money for it, if you like nice cars etc.) Thoughts? @everyone

Salary is an important factor but it's not the be all end all.

Let's say you finish uni and you're presented with the following:

Job A: 24k, clear progression route and support for professional qualifications. salary increases in line with performance & completion of study. Role fits in perfectly with what you want to do
Job B: 28k, limited progression opportunities, limited pay scale. In the right sector but not exactly what you want to do

Anyone with half a brain would take Job A
Don't need money to travel when you get paid to travel

Yeah but that scenario is leading to you earning more money in Scenario A? Would've made more sense of Job B was what you wanted to do (e.g. Restriction of money). If Job B was £48k in Job B you might get some different answers!

The main point is that the vast majority of people don't enjoy what they do (no matter how much a financial advisor tells me he loves his job, I refuse to believe him) so you may as well earn good money doing something. Obviously don't do something that makes you miserable, but if the scenario was:

A- what you love, £40k salary
B- not what you love but don't mind too much, £70k salary
