Dallas protest shooting: 11 police officers shot, 4 killed by snipers

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2016/jul/07/dallas-shooting-police-officers-protest-alton-sterling-philando-castile

The city of Dallas was plunged into chaos on Thursday night as four police officers were shot dead and at least seven others were wounded when dozens of shots were fired during a downtown protest against violence.

The anti-violence rally descended into chaos on Thursday night after what Brown described as “two snipers” shot at officers “from elevated positions”. Four officers were struck fatally and several of the wounded were reported to be in surgery or a critical condition.

I mean, it's supposed to be a peace rally on police brutality, essentially. Shooting police isn't exactly going to help your cause. In fact he's undermined a legitimate issue and given the police fuel to keep acting the way they currently act now.

Mass riots against the police at a time of heightened ISIS threat is not a good response to this from the affected communities though
its my right to bear arms though. a piece of paper written 200 years ago says so, no matter what it does to my country

They sowed the wind now they're reaping the whirlwind... Letting people own Sniper rifles and such... stupid.
"lets protest about uneccesary killings then shoot innocent police officers" mindless stupid people, what do they hope to acheive, just as bad as those 2 cops who started this. America needs to sort out its guns, history will look at America with disgust and stupidity for their god awful gun laws.

This seems to have been planned.Only in America do you shoot people at anti violence rallies to make a point.
TSR should f**k off if they want to take this down,We dont live in fantasy world, things like this happen .Fed up of them taking them Islam threads all the time.

Most Islam threads go racist pretty fast

Yes I know.

The sarcasm at the authenticity of the constitution because it's ancient is very asinine.
Maybe police officers will think twice about shooting people for no reason.

Or at least not be so ****ing retarded to do it while being filmed

Its America almost religious like loyalty to that constitution and belief to bear amrs that causes trouble like this.Anyone who seriously believes you need assault and sniper rifles to defend yourself is deluded.

I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't a sniper rifle, it's just the media being uninformed in their reporting, like how all handguns are pistols and all automatic weapons are machine guns. Could easily be a sniper rifle because long guns (shotguns, rifles, assault rifles etc) are legal, as are many optics. Texas also have the loosest gun laws is the US, but I expect it an AR-15 with a scope rather than an actual sniper rifle.

The idea that police hate Black people and intentionally target them is an overly simplistic way of seeing things. There are a lot of complex factors at work here, including the fact that Blacks are disproportionately poor due to historical repression and thus forced to turn to crime, due to poverty, lack of opportunity, and poor education.

That doesn't necessarily mean that police are wrong to arrest Black people after they commit crimes, though. It also doesn't mean that some police aren't brutal or racist. But to assume that the majority of police are out to get Black people the way they do, and that it justifies targeting police and Whites for violence... that's just a radical and dangerous view that is not constructive.
Must be a professional, got every target he went for hasn't he?
If people were ever going to think that the only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun, this story appears to involve a bunch of good guys with guns getting shot regardless. Bring guns into a situation and it just becomes a toss-up who lives and who dies.
