I went. Not my thing at all. It was highly up enjoyable. There was nothing to do except dance and drink, both if which I hate. So, I stood on awkwardly and watched my friends dance.
Ive gone to 2 proms so far, yes you eat and talk but the difference to the canteen is that you can talk to people you don't usually and dance of course :007:
Jump up and down on the dance floor, take pics, have banter with the teachers

I have been to one, can't wait for the year 13 prom!!
It was so much fun! We had a 3 course meal and took lots of photos. After eating, everyone started dancing because the DJ started playing music that everyone liked  Tbh it was good although my feet were killing me.

I didn't go to my year 13 prom cause I don't like the idea of going to an event where most of the guests are people a) i don't like or b) i don't ever socialise with. Also this particular prom allowed plus 1's and one of them was my old crush from year 11 and I didn't want to bump into him again with his girlfriend TBH as that was awkward last prom in year 11 which was one of the worst nights ever so yeh...... Proms are overrated and also £30 I felt wasn't worth the money seeing as we weren't even having a proper dinner :/

I didn't :nah: It was too expensive, I didn't have any proper friends at the time and it just wasn't my sort of thing!

Yh I can relate my year 11 prom was just me sitting at a table and a few people awkwardly dancing at the front . We didnt get any food and the only drinks available were the 35 p energy ones you get from the corner shop... It was actually awful .
No,I loathe social interactions, especially in crowded places.

How much was yours ; my year 13 one was £30 which I did think was taking the piss seeing as we weren't even having a dinner or anything just some cheap buffet in some posh house . I didn't go and judging by the pictures on Facebook I really didn't miss out on much. Seemed very anticlimactic
I went to mine and it wasn't worth it really.

We took some photos of eachother looking smart, then ate a poorly cooked lunch, and had a chat.

You're right, it's basically what you do in the school canteen, with more waiting around just looking pretty.

Ah Yh and I hate how everyone tries to be super nice like something you haven't spoken to all year suddenly starts saying how you look amazing like stfu.
I went to both my year 11 and year 13 prom. Year 13 prom was much better - it cost much more though at £37...

Well, eat and chat, then go on the dancefloor. I was pretty awkward when i first got on the dancefloor, but after a few drinks, I just didn't care anymore. It was more of a disco/nightclub style... Also, in the year 13 prom, there was a bar so alcohol could be bought. Let's say, quite a few people were drunk (including me but to a lesser extent).

I can't remember as it was a few years ago now, but if I factored in the typical cost of a dress, potentially hair etc too as well as the ticket, it wasn't worth it!

There was a used condom in the limo we went in for prom, summed up the night tbh
