about to start a-level, where should I apply for work experience during my 2 years.

Any ideas what I could do during my 2 years to make a competitive application for those spring internships during uni- and will I be disadvantaged by having no financial work experience during GCSE? My friends are currently doing work experience in the Bank Of England and I'm so jealous of them ):.

1. Calm down pls, you should enjoy the next 2 years don't be super obsessed with finance stuff right now. It doesn't help you as much as socialising, getting good grades and living life will.

2. Look online for programs and reach out to firms

3. Stop being jealous

4. Do stuff that INTERESTs you not specifically to boost your CV

5. Remember what I said about top candidates? They don't make these posts or get jelly at their friends. They use their initiative to get stuff done - use yours bro

I will use my initiative once I start a-level, but I can't now- can I , all programs and work experience applications for banking open in september ish, I just want to make sure I understand all the types of useful experience and other things I can do that may help me once I START a-level, but i'm forced to stay idle during the summer holiday right now, which I don't like, I'm the type of person who enjoys WORKING and finance. Not petty little things that don't matter, like gaming.

That's why I'm saying chill.. Being idle is alright, maybe pick up a programming language online if you want or learn a new language with some online pen pals? Go out and volunteer somewhere? There's a lot of stuff you could be doing to fill up time. Hell, apply to a job at a phone store (I 100% recommend it to build sales skills and confidence) and sell, sell, sell.

You have 40+ years to work dude, don't get stressed because you're not working in the summer holidays ahahahaha.

alright ty, just that I know how competitive IB is, so I thought getting into the mentality that nothing else matters ,except work might help me- but I guess it is the holidays and I should relax

It doesn't help bro, just turns you into a stressball. You have to remember finance is a people business at the end of the day, and you want to make sure you come across as a likeable individual - that can only come from naturally finding your own interests and socialising with your peers.

But yeah, take it easy. Have a great summer too
