You may rise. Your obeisance is pleasing to us.

Then you may remain prostrate, if you prefer.

Did anyone find the quiz a bit strange at times? I was stumped for much longer than I should have by the first question because I kept looking for something like "compassion" as a synonym for "love", haha.*

Yep. Agreed. It should really be "a synonym", not "the synonym". And some of was rather aimed at the former colony.

Not too bad, if I may say so. At seemed rather Americanised. I dare say, I'd do a little better if it were based on British English.

Some of the questions seemed a little vague. The antonym of catalyse could damp in the sense of damping a sound, but it could also be stop, couldn't it?

Thanks, that's my favourite kind of rep :proud:
Hmm... apparently there's a reason I always did so well in English class.

Well, I am old and my memory isn't what it once was...

I have the same problem. In fact, although the test doesn't reveal it, I am getting noticeably (to me) worse at remembering synonyms. Senility must be cutting in.

For me, it's nouns, pronouns, verbs, the whole shebang.

You're American, also, and this test has a transatlantic style which will suit you more than it does us. I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but it's not a very UK English style of test.

This result surprised me. I guess I picked up more from the endless reading I did when younger than I realised. Like others, I hadn't come across some of the words before, but could make reasoned guesses as to what they might mean.

Interesting, I found the antonyms harder.
