Military going nuts in turkey, Bridges closed?

But one thing is for sure if erdogan remains a lot of military command both senior and mid level will either be imprisoned or tried. And I don't think Turkey can afford the loss of such senior/experienced people.

Fair point
Protests or military force can only make the situation even more messy.

Exactly, that is what should be done.
Apparently that rebel gunship that was firing at the military command building has been shot down by f16s.

Me too :frown:

Too early to tell, but Alhamdulillah the situation is looking better.

Also, very interesting to see how many people on this forum advocate democracy yet are supporting the coup.
17 Police officers reported to be martys while fighting with coup forces.
Turkey seems to have two choices, kill Erdogan or have purges like Stalin had after this.

Yep.
the hypocrisy is just blatant and in the open.

People on the streets.
Concerned by the number of civilians on the streets protesting.

Really?!
Wow had no idea.
I am a bigger fan of secularism than democracy, so I do hope that Erdogan goes down.

Hi, what's your opinion on the election in November? Was it rigged?

Democracy is only good when the Muslims aren't voted in. Didn't you know

"Islamists", not "Muslims". Sadat, ex president of Egypt, was Muslim and he started the peace treaty with Israel after a coup, so it sometimes works good.
New reports, an Army helicopter has killed 17 police officers at the Police Special Forces HQ outside Ankara.

The claims by some loyalist commanders that this is a tiny faction is simply not credible. To undertake an operation of this magnitude requires a lot of logistics, a lot of officers to be involved. If the Army was so solidly behind Erdogan then this wouldn't have happened in the first place
