Chamberes linked to watford.

Cant see him being sold though - still only 21, very young for a defender.
If we do sign Mahrez, no chance of a top forward.. wenger is not spending 30m+ twice in a window.

Guess he is just going for a top class midfield, and hoping that it compensates for a lack of a top scorer.. which has not exactly worked out very well for us in the past few seasons..

Mahrez, Ozil, Xhaka, Wilshire, Ramsey, Coq, Elneny.. pretty solid options throughout..

Then you go attacking:

Sanchez = strong
Iwobi/Akpom = young
Sanogo = chaos

Giroud/walcott/ox/campbell = disappointment to their own mothers.
Mahrez is technically a winger

Higuain to Juve, that's your hopes of a WC striker shattered for another year. Maybe next summer.*

Imagine calling Higuain world class. Certified bottler. Up there with Cavani and Arsenal circa February 2011.

so is every midfielder according to wenger.. he will fit in nicely.
This Mahrez talk is a lot of agent fabricated nonsense. We won't buy because he will be seen as too expensive by that **** Gazidis.
I can see you going for Turan if he's on the market.
Wouldn't you benefit more from a solid striker or CB than another AM/winger?

Mahrez is great but would be stupidly pricey and its in a position where you already have some quality players. It just seems like it shouldn't be that high on your list of priorities...

Who do we have? Sanchez but he'll play on the left with Mahrez on the right.

Okay let's say that in total you have room for 5 midfielders or any sort since you play one striker up front.

Ozil
Sanchez
Xhaka
Coquelin
Ramsey
Cazorla
Walcott
AOC
Wilshere

Why the hell do you even need to spend £40m on Mahrez here?
Yes the guy was performing at a world class level last season but that was in a Leicester side and that was simply one season of football.

Who says he'd be as good in an Arsenal shirt when he isn't the main man anymore and he isn't playing counter-attacking football?

Midfield is the one area Arsenal do not need strengthening - your defence and striking positions are the obvious choices yet Wenger seems to consistently ignore this...
Arsenal do desperately need a winger though. Another CB has to come in and your squad looks ready there or there abouts.

Because Chamberlain is **** and Walcott is usually injured for long spells and is not that great a player anyway. Why are you using central players to try and strengthen your argument when Mahrez is a winger? That's just absurd.

Also don't think Mahrez is a player that just plays in a counter attacking side either. Guy has technique in abundance and is able to pick out passes like it's nothing, he can also score all kinds of goals.

Also defence doesn't even need to be sorted. They are fine at fullback, fine at GK, Koscielny is obviously a great CB and while Mert has his problems, you have Gabriel who clearly spoke little to no English when he and in that you clearly need a player who can speak it. They also have Chambers who's quite young and needs time to integrate into the team.

Xhaka - CM
Coquelin - CM
Ramsey - Not a Winger
Cazorla - CM (now)
Walcott - ****
AOC - ****
Wilshere - who?

True but that doesn't mean we shouldn't be spending £40m on another Winger

Well he wasn't the main man at Leicester, he was a big cog in a team.

This is a fallacy created after we signed Ozil. Our midfield definitely needs to be balanced. Our only real goal threats on the wings are Sanchez Walcott and Welbeck. Hilarious to put the latter two in our midfield.

Yeah Luke was clearly just baiting as per usual because I don't get how he could be so dense.

Nah I'm using all midfield players because of the various formations you could play.

I could say they could play 4-3-3 in which case you'd perhaps need another winger, but that would mean Xhaka/Coquelin and Cazorla/Ramsey would be benched and both are good enough for the first team.

I could say they could play 4-2-3-1 in which case Ramsey and Cazorla would be benched who are good enough for the first team.

I'm not saying Mahrez wouldn't be a good signing, I'm saying that maybe they should sort out their CB and ST options first...

Don't even try to argue that they have good CBs and is it at all possible for you to have a discussion without sounding like an arrogant *****?
