Damn strong press still, was rep 5 an RPE 10?

Maybe go to 180 odd for final warm up?

Yes, but I've done 76 for 3x5 only a month ago.

I don't think it was my warm-ups - 170 as a last single for an attempted 190 x 5 sounds fairly sensible to me. I think it was just a reflection of how my training has been going this last week or two, coupled with disappointment from the press.
I'm not really in the best position to give advice, but have you considered knocking out some volume when you have bad days for your main sets? I get cutting losses and going home if you think you aren't properly recovered, but if it happens too often you might end up having the opposite problem! Just a thought - ive not been following too closely so could have missed smth

Getting some volume in would be the logical thing to do, although I find it very frustrating staying when things aren't going too well... I dunno, I think I maybe need to switch to something with more volume at lower weights.

Yeah if you're consistently having bad sessions take a week or 2 off completely or just switch it up tbh. If the time off doesn't help you know it's not recovery

That, and growing some balls, yes.
haha, balls can only get you so far!
Not a great one tonight, again...

Squats:

165 x 1

Just didn't feel right at all, in any way...

Bench press:

90 x 5/5/5/5/5 - paused

Not hard at all.

Pull ups:

bodyweight x 5/5/5

Then home.
Actually had a good session tonight!

Squats:

165 x 5/5/5

Got them all. Quite hard, but it's the first time I've done all three sets of five for a while. Form a bit off on some of them.

Press:

75 x 3/3/3/3/3/3/3/3

Not too bad. 5 x 5 was failing so switched to 8 x 3, as it's pretty much the same amount of volume.

Chins:

bodyweight x 7/5/5

Some lacrosse ball work then home.
Good session tonight.

Squats:

167.5 x 5/5/5

Very hard. Lost my balance on the last rep of the first set and had to step backwards.

Bench press:

100 x 1 - paused
112.5 x 1 - paused

New PR. Lost my arch a bit and stuff on it but still a PR. Was quite difficult.

Incline dumbbell bench press:

30s x 10/9/8

Then home.
Mixed session tonight.

Squats:

130 x 5/5

Light squats.

Press:

77.5 x 3/3/3/3/3/3/3/3

Quite hard.

Deadlifts:

190 x 0

Deadlifting strength really seems to have evaporated after my cycle of deficits.

Then home.
Time to deload those deads

Awesome pressing tho

Kinda average session tonight.

Bench press:

92.5 x 5/5/5/5/5 - paused

Quite hard.

Power cleans:

80 x 3

Then on the second set banged my thumbnail or something and couldn't get any more. First time doing cleans in ages.

Barbell rows:

80 x 8/8/8/8

Doing these more "bodybuilder" style rather than strict off the floor, since I've never had much results from doing them like that.

Then home.
Good, and relatively quick, session this afternoon.

Squats:

160 x 5/5/5/5/5

Not too bad. Decided to do 5 x 5 because.

Chins:

bodyweight x 5

Not feeling chins much this afternoon.

Then home.
Quick session tonight. Was very time constrained and still DOMS from Saturday's squats:

Squats:

130 x 5/5

Light squats.

Press:

80 x 3/3/3/1

First three quite hard but doable. Last set very close after previous one as had to leave so tried to give another a bash but didn't have more than one rep in me.

Then home.
Quick one this afternoon.

Incline dumbbell bench press:

30s x 8/8/8/8/8

Not too bad.

Barbell rows:

80 x 8/8/8/8

Not too bad.

Then home.
Good session tonight.

Squats:

162.5 x 5/5/5/5/5

Quite hard, and form not as good as last time.

Bench press:

95 x 5/5/5/5/5 - paused

Quite hard.

Didn't have it in my to do any chins so went home.
Mixed session tonight.

Squats:

132.5 x 5/5

Light squats.

Press:

80 x 1/1

This is where things went wrong.

Deadlifts:

170 x 5

Not too bad. Hook grip feeling a bit awkward.

Seated dumbbell overhead press:

25s x 8/8/8/8/8

Not too bad.

Then home.
Average session tonight. Not a long one.

Bench press:

97.5 x 5/5/5/5/3 - paused

A bit disappointed to have missed the last two but must be closing in on my previous TnG five by five or three by five PR.

Chins:

bodyweight x 5/3

Kinda wondering whether it's a grip issue...

Some lacrosse ball work then home.
Good session tonight.

Squats:

165 x 5/5/5/5/5

Very hard.

Deadlifts:

175 x 5

Hook grip still feeling quite hard. Tired from the squats too.

Some lacrosse ball work and foam rolling then home.
Decent enough session tonight.

Squats:

135 x 5/5

Light squats.

Press:

80 x 3/3/3/3/3/2

At least I got five triples.

Deadlifts:

180 x 5

Okay.

Then home.
