What's sixth form like ?

Hi guys
Well anyway I'm feeling like really stressed out about it. See I'm going to my schools sixth form but the people I usually socialise with are doing other things. I know I'll become closer to new People an thst but will the amount of sixth form work completey destroy my social life? Will I really struggle to see my friends again. I'm really stressing over it I think I'm doing physchology sociology and English language will I just have no life at all
I remember when I started year 12 I was quite stressed and worried about it especially as it's a sixth form college so there was many people who I didn't know.
It's really not that bad, in fact I prefer it a lot more than secondary school. It didn't take me long to settle in, within a few weeks I was used to the routine.
As for your friends I'm sure you'll still manage to see them during breaks and lunch. I only have two friends who are in my class but I still managed to see my other friends throughout the day.

I preferred sixth form far more to GCSE, trust me GCSEs really are the worst part of school life because you're forced to do **** you really don't wanna do, as well as doing way more exams. At GCSE I did 22 exams and for AS it was 7- and if all goes to plan then I'll only have 4 next year. Of course AS is way harder than GCSE, but the passion for the subject should motivate you enough.
You're also given a lot more freedom from teachers and frees, which multiplies in U6. They take you more seriously and classes are way more fun and you get to know the teachers so much better.
Try out Sixth Form, you'd regret it if you didn't - and if you don't like it then it's only 2 years!

Yeah I guess you're right it's just I was really scared about not seeing my friends who Arnt going sixth form an that you see. And like I enjoy the three subjects I've chosen here so I guess I'll like it a bit more
It's a lot of hard work. Depending on how your sixth form is set up, it can be really strict but KEEP UP WITH THE WORK FROM DAY ONE. LIKE START REVISING 2 HOURS A DAY AND IT WILL PAY OFF.

LOL

Those are runt subjects. You're not doing biology, chemistry, maths and physics (or further maths), so calm down and get comfy because sixth form is going to be a doss for you and so is the rest of your life you pitiful little mug. You won't know what hard work is, trust me.

Damn 😬, and apparently English lit is hard

Depends.
If you have frees, it's the best time of your life.

I'm someone that got picked on throughout the 5 years of secondary school so when I started at my sixth form college I was surprised that the people there were a lot more nicer and mature. Don't worry too much about it

Majority of my friends from primary/secondary school went to the same college as me and even one of them is in my class. A good way to make new friends would be to start talking to the people in your class. This girl in my class actual walked up towards me and my friend and started making conversations and now we're friends.

The stationary I bring to college are:
notepads/note books
Pencil case with things like highlighters and glue stick
Folders with plastic pockets

Don't bother spending money on new stuff, I just reused the stuff I already had. As for bags you can use a handbag that's big enough to fit folders and other things you have.

Use any bag you want, people in college don't really take notice of it because they tend to mind their own business.
I think a backpack would be better than a handbag, carrying everything on one shoulder is going to ache
Ok i'm going to be fair and lenient when I can.

Sixth form is fun.
You get to boss the school as much as you want.
It's freedom to the nth degree.

However, the problem you have is that you need to study.
Case study - 7 people in my school thought 6th form was time for socialising and little work. They got kicked out unapologetically this year.
You need to work hard and thorough.
Develop your own learning skills and don't involve parents. It has to be independent.
Hi I'm starting sixth form in September 2017, yes it's quite some time away but I really need help, you see I was wondering if sixth form was less strict and more like college where your more dependent and stuff.
