Let's be honest here is anyone really surprised?

I think most people know the reasons why this is but it is un PC to say so, the main problem isn't companies it tends to come from the communities they grow up in.

No one has said all i care about is money, screw my family. But a woman who has a job and so does her husband earning money and allowing their kids to have a good life while also balancing work/life balance is far better than a stay at home mum in nearly all circumstances

As a Muslim, I agree. My wife isn't gonna be some lazy ass sloth and stay at home all day doing **** all. Every married woman in my family works. I think it's just a handful of these conservative Muslim women that don't, which is absolutely silly if you ask me.

Not everyone is going to be as successful as each other. Deal with it. Muslim women are fine how they are and are perfect how they are. Stop trying to create divisions.

Why? Why are we not entitled to say our opinion? Why are we not entitled to question a culture that clashes with what our ancestors have developed?
Unless you either a) own the company or b) have an ideological motivation behind your work (eg you're a research scientist or specialist in saving poor people from tropical illness) actually working hard is for schmucks.

Beyonce is more successful than either of you.

My point has been proven

If you want to talk about suffering of muslim women then we can also talk about suffering of women in general? I do see that there are problems faced but there are muslim women who are successful than their counterparts in every field. It might not have been in the past but things are changing. My own family has more female doctors and one male doctor.

The suffering of Muslim women is far greater than the suffering of women and man.
They are oppressed, held like slaves for men in some parts of the world
not allowed out without a escort
expected to not have a job in most Islamic countries
Not allowed to drive in a certain part of the world.
and many of your high up priests or whatnots allow this and advocate this
And much of it is put off as "oh we are protecting them"

You're so right, she sounds mental I have no idea why she's taking pride in this nonsense. There are lots of attractive women I know, one is actually a model, she doesn't brag about how many marriage proposals she gets because that's not normal.

Honestly, I feel it's more of a cultural problem than one of discrimination- Muslim women just tend to be homemakers instead of working in paid employment. However, there might be some discrimination for certain roles like sales where hiring a women wearing a niqab might not be appropriate and where they are therefore likely to be discriminated against.

The findings are referring to Muslim women who want to work or are looking for work. Those who voluntarily choose not to take up paid employment are already accounted for.
Excuse me?! Im a Beyonce fan :frown: wtf. Haha omg she is worth more than everyone on tsr! She isnt single tho?

So what???! What is TSR supposed to do?
What is the point?? What are we supposed to do?? What's the point of this argument? If they're seen less successful, let them be.

Well, every muslim woman in my extended family and friends are more educated than men.

So? Women in Iran go more to uni than men. What do they have to show for it down the line?
What is success? And by what standard are they measuring this success?
Muslim women are successful in their own right and they don't need a bbc report to prove that.

I am a Pakistani (the country which is thought to be Islamic). I would not let anyone oppress me and if someone does, trust me I would speak against it. I do realise there are some problems like I said, but muslim women are speaking out for themselves and in fact are studying to become successful. Hence, I called the study bogus but ok.
Ambition is a masculine trait, this is not to say I am against women working, however women who define themselves by their jobs are simply insufferable, men who do the same are slightly more acceptable, but kind of boring.
