HMRC Graduate Tax Specialist Programme 2016

I'm in the exact same position. I live in NW London and I am looking for a flat closer to Croydon but because I don't know where the classes will be I don't know if it's worth it or not! I was also told that we'll have a block format so something like a month of classes and then a month of work. I wish they could be more specific so I can plan my life!

Is that at the Kaplan? Do you know if it'll be via distance learning and then in class revision sessions like PWC for example or just all in class tuition, like most standard block leave study support private sector accountancy firms offer. This ICAS programme seems worlds apart (in a good way) from the in house tax qualifications we would otherwise be studying. If they intend on us completing the exams in 2 years, they will basically be paying us to attend college. Because that's a lot of tuition/exam taking to fit in in that space of time.

Is that Croydon for all ICAS ITP people, or just the London ones? It's a long way to go from Manchester...

Also, the mailbox folk told me the ITP was over three years, not two...

Ive just received an email offering me an Officer role. Anyone else in the same position, could you please confirm the email address it says to send your acceptance to? I remember a while back the TSP facebook page said something about email addresses not sending through to certain accounts properly and I have a feeling it hasnt sent through proper on mine.

just seemed a bit strange as half of it was hyperlinked, the rest not.

Seems like they are using a few addresses, no wonder things are always messing up. I e-mailed isbc.e&[email protected] originally when i had to respond stating my preferred locations.

I received the same e-mail. No idea why as I accepted the original offer a while back and got an email back last friday saying my pre employment checks have been passed and the post holder will be in contact with me shortly. No mention in that email about accepting again - and I certainly haven't received any other e-mails, very confusing :s

Yeah very confusing indeed. I just don't understand what's going on. There must be some others who have had the same email so I guess we're not the only ones. This is the number for CSR team: 0300 052 3040.

"What you must do now1. To accept the offer. If you would like to accept this offer please e-mail e&[email protected] with the subject header ‘Accept – Tax Professional & Operational Delivery Officer Caseworker’ as soon as possible, and within 3 days of the date of this letter.2. To decline the offer. If you do not wish to accept this offer please e-mail e&[email protected] with the subject header ‘Decline – Tax Professional & Operational Delivery Officer Caseworker – as soon as possible, and within 3 days of the date of this letter providing your reasons. "

I applied for The Graduate Scheme 2016 for Belfast and got to stage 2 (passed but not enough to get to stage 3). I've been on a reserve list for officer grade since December. Finally got an email yesterday (after giving up hope) giving me a provisional offer. However it states in the email that it will be working 5 out 7 days rota shifts 8am-8pm. I stated in my application (think it was this one) that i would prefer flexi. I am aware this may not be possible but i thought most HMRC was flexi time? I emailed them back regarding this but haven't heard anything back. Is there anyone in Belfast from this year or previous years who can clarify? I'm not sure I would fancy working weekends 12pm-8pm etc.

HMRC is not all flexitime. They are hiring a bunch of Customer Service Consultants this October that will be on the working pattern you describe - I.e. 37 hours per week but could be any time between 8 and 8 any day - and I expect any other customer facing roles would be similar.
