I'm in the exact same position. I live in NW London and I am looking for a flat closer to Croydon but because I don't know where the classes will be I don't know if it's worth it or not! I was also told that we'll have a block format so something like a month of classes and then a month of work. I wish they could be more specific so I can plan my life!

They might have told you by now, but I just found out that classes will also be held in Croydon, in fact right next to the HMRC Southern House office. Hope that leaves you with time to make a decision...

Is that at the Kaplan? Do you know if it'll be via distance learning and then in class revision sessions like PWC for example or just all in class tuition, like most standard block leave study support private sector accountancy firms offer. This ICAS programme seems worlds apart (in a good way) from the in house tax qualifications we would otherwise be studying. If they intend on us completing the exams in 2 years, they will basically be paying us to attend college. Because that's a lot of tuition/exam taking to fit in in that space of time.

Is that Croydon for all ICAS ITP people, or just the London ones? It's a long way to go from Manchester...

Also, the mailbox folk told me the ITP was over three years, not two...

As far as I know that is just the London venue as other pilot locations will have more local venues.

From what information I have gathered so far, the actual structured learning/exams leading to the ITP qualification will take just over 2 years to complete.

It might then take up to the third year to be experienced enough for promotion to G7. This will probably become clearer as we progress through the pilot program.

But whatever, it should still be a faster route than the traditional TSP.

I've been told that the venue is actually a local hotel very close to the Croydon HMRC office. Since the external tuition will be delivered in blocks I suspect they will just book a suite for us in there for whenever the learning courses are scheduled.

And from what I have found out, the external ICAS learning will be a mixture of classroom learning and distance/e-learning.

Not long now though. Hopefully we will get a better idea during induction...

Has anyone who was offered a HO/O role received this email this afternoon?

You were recently issued a provisional offer letter in regards to your application under vacancy ref. CSR/1667/16. In the letter you were asked to respond within 5 days but we have yet to receive a response from yourself. You now have 3 days from the date of this message to respond to your provisional offer. If we do not receive a response from you within this time your application under vacancy ref. CSR/1667/16 will be withdrawn. Please can you send your accept or decline to the following e-mail address: [email protected]

I have actually accepted the offer when they first initially offered me the role which leaves me baffled as to why I've received this.

If it helps, I was offered an O grade role in London this afternoon. Had given up hope after last being emailed mid-May, and have now accepted a recently-offered place on the Fast Stream.

I received the same e-mail. No idea why as I accepted the original offer a while back and got an email back last friday saying my pre employment checks have been passed and the post holder will be in contact with me shortly. No mention in that email about accepting again - and I certainly haven't received any other e-mails, very confusing :s

Is there a phone number to call where they could help clarify whats happening?

Ive just received an email offering me an Officer role. Anyone else in the same position, could you please confirm the email address it says to send your acceptance to? I remember a while back the TSP facebook page said something about email addresses not sending through to certain accounts properly and I have a feeling it hasnt sent through proper on mine.

Seems like they are using a few addresses, no wonder things are always messing up. I e-mailed isbc.e&[email protected] originally when i had to respond stating my preferred locations.

Yeah very confusing indeed. I just don't understand what's going on. There must be some others who have had the same email so I guess we're not the only ones. This is the number for CSR team: 0300 052 3040.

I received this email for an O grade role today.

"You previously applied for a Tax Professional Caseworker role with HMRC, I am aware some time has passed, however I am pleased to be able to offer you an opportunity to join HM Revenue and Customs as a Tax Professional Caseworker in London. "

Me too Keeley, this is what mine says

"What you must do now1. To accept the offer. If you would like to accept this offer please e-mail e&[email protected] with the subject header ‘Accept Tax Professional & Operational Delivery Officer Caseworker’ as soon as possible, and within 3 days of the date of this letter.2. To decline the offer. If you do not wish to accept this offer please e-mail e&[email protected] with the subject header ‘Decline Tax Professional & Operational Delivery Officer Caseworker as soon as possible, and within 3 days of the date of this letter providing your reasons. "
I applied for The Graduate Scheme 2016 for Belfast and got to stage 2 (passed but not enough to get to stage 3). I've been on a reserve list for officer grade since December. Finally got an email yesterday (after giving up hope) giving me a provisional offer. However it states in the email that it will be working 5 out 7 days rota shifts 8am-8pm. I stated in my application (think it was this one) that i would prefer flexi. I am aware this may not be possible but i thought most HMRC was flexi time? I emailed them back regarding this but haven't heard anything back. Is there anyone in Belfast from this year or previous years who can clarify? I'm not sure I would fancy working weekends 12pm-8pm etc.

Many thanks

HMRC is not all flexitime. They are hiring a bunch of Customer Service Consultants this October that will be on the working pattern you describe - I.e. 37 hours per week but could be any time between 8 and 8 any day - and I expect any other customer facing roles would be similar.

Applied for the graduate scheme late last year, passed the stage 2 tests but didn't score highly enough to pass through to stage 3. Received an email offering me an O grade position in Liverpool, absolutely made up! Anyone know where it is in the city centre if it'll be 8am-8pm 7 days a week or mon-fri with flexitime, etc?

Thanks for the info. I was aware it wasn't entirely flexi in HMRC but I thought my role was or at least given the option. What is a customer service consultant? Sounds like a call centre type of role, Do you know what grade that would be? My provisional offer is for an Officer role. Didn't get a reply t the email I sent hence asking on this forum
