there was a bbc article a few days ago that laid out all of the gold medals that both countries should win, and it had china ending on 2 above us..*
But since then we have picked up gold medals that they did not predict (hockey for instance) and china have dropped medals in badminton and other events, so tbh its anyones game now.. we have a huge chance, and I would think the race is pretty much over if we can get golds in the boxing/martial art finals that are still to come.
People here in china are pissed.. saying its their worst perfomance in decades.. they have a tone of medals, just cant seem to get golds. seems like their team confidence just dropped, and now those small margins are killing them *
