Applying to similar courses

Hello there!

I am currently working on my UCAS application, and I've read a few times that I shouldn't apply to two similar courses at the same university, and that it could be negative for me.
Do you think that Biomedical Sciences and Biology are considered similar courses? They are taught in two different colleges, the College of Medicine and the College of Science.

Thanks in advance!

Oh, right, I see what you mean! They both require the same skills, so that my personal statement would work for both.
Thanks a lot
