There were free unreserved seats, as I've demonstrated in the three photos. The free unreserved seats he walked past are the same ones he went back and sat in after the photo op.

Are you being deliberately dishonest, or haven't you bothered to look at the photos?

lol you have way too much free time

We aren't being told everything about this yet

Clearly it's some kind of conspiracy

we need to hear from more passengers who were on the train. It does sound as if this went in stages, with a period when people were standing, followed by some space clearing by staff and then more people finding seats.

Aww bless, you're so desperate to believe that you will continue to deny even in the face of hard evidence. The evidence is clear; at c. 11:10 he walked past free, unreserved seats. He went to film his photo op, and then returned at 11:45 and sat down in the same unreserved seats he had previously walked past

Mendez said that the seemingly empty seats shown on an image released by Virgin Trains, timestamped 11.10am, had bags or coats placed on them by passengers. "

From the Guardian just now.

This has all the hallmarks of an engineered smear story, I suspect Branson's people are collaborating with New Labour types, they were as thick as thieves in the Blair days.

If that's the best you've got, you've already lost this argument.

Or else perhaps you're a Luddite and it really would take you three hours to copy and paste an image link

Virgin’s version was contradicted by a woman who said she had also sat on the floor of the train next to Corbyn, having sent a social media photo of herself and her daughter with the Labour leader.Ellen who asked to not be fully named told the Guardian that Corbyn had seemingly gone through the entire standard-class section of the train but had not been able to find a seat. The 26-year-old, who was with her one-year-old daughter and son, aged six, said she had similarly been unable to find seats.“He’s not lying,” she said. “When I saw him he was in coach A, right at the front. He hadn’t managed to find a seat in the whole of the train. I was sat on the floor, there was no space for me to get a seat. There were people in every space between every carriage. It was totally overcrowded. They were full of bags and full of people.”Like Corbyn, the woman was seated about 45 minutes into the trip, after Virgin staff moved people into reserved seats that were unoccupied.

Ah yes, an entire carriage of empty seats with bags on them in an otherwise full-train  It doesn't happen. Team Corbyn is desperately trying to cover their tracks now, and it's not working. They've been found out.

In any case, if all those seats in this picture

have bags on them (magically invisible bags), then how did Corbyn sit down in precisely the same carriage later? And where are all these supposed bag owners?

This has all the hallmarks of an engineered smear story

Probably best to leave it there, then. I find 9/11 "truthers" extremely annoying, I'm not likely to find this conversation with you any more enjoyable

Nope. The reserved seats were in another carriage. He walked past unreserved seats at approx 11:10am on his way to film the staged photo op; here is the photo
And here he is returning to those seats at around 11:45 after having filmed his little staged photo opHere is the photo of him walking past reserved seats; it was a completely different carriage. So all the huffing and puffing about reserved seats, claims the staff had to move people around or bilked him for a first-class tickets, are hilariously inept attempts to cover up a botched spin operation.

There are pictures of someone taking a selfie/photo with him. That means nothing, particularly given we have indisputable photo evidence that he walked past a carriage full of free unreserved seats, and returned to sit in the carriage full of unreserved seats after filming the photo op

The only simpleton here is... well, I'll leave you to work that one out.

No there's photos of others sitting on the floor no way near Corbyn. He would never lie about something like that, there's no need to. And it's a very real issue he's making a show of which needs to be fixed, you are making it seem as if it doesn't exist. And to be honest, the fact that the worse thing you and the media could come up with to slate the man is that he could be faking sitting on the floor, it becomes clear that he's the one to lead the Labour party. Smith's backing of the prevent strategy is far worse but not a word is spoken about it.

So a Corbyn fan supports Corbyn's story. Quelle surprise.

I'll stick with the hard evidence, thanks
In other news, according to a rail franchise, all of these passengers are comfortably seated.

How terrible of him to be concerned with wanting to prevent suicide bombs going off on the streets of Britain

A lot of people have already debunked that photo...what statements.

That sounds exactly like when you hear conspiracy theorists claim "Oh those television pictures of 9/11... they've all been debunked.... there were no planes"
Original post by skeptical_john
why make four different statements in the space of 6 hours if he's done nothing wrong?

Isn't it hilarious how desperate they are to believe? If you'd told me 18 months ago that the cult of personality would be alive and well in one of the major parties of the UK, I would have laughed at the absurdity of the proposition.

The ability of the Corbynista to swear blind that their leader can do no wrong in the face of hard evidence to the contrary is quite breathtaking.

Oh and I thought you might appreciate this video below. He does that usual patronising, slightly unhinged-angry voice he always puts on with journalists, but then gets this wild look in his eyes. Wtf is wrong with this man?

Hypocrite. There hasn't been a single source coming forward supporting Virgin. Were all people die-hard Corbyn fans on the train so they would lie for him? And yet you believe the company that has everything to gain from attacking Corbyn? But you are not the conspiracy theorist?

The "Corbynista"? You scared there is a socialist conspiracy out to get people like you?

ahahahahahahha

The hard evidence of actual CCTV footage supports Virgin's position.

Were all people die-hard Corbyn fans on the train so they would lie for him?

All the people on the train haven't come forward. One woman, a Corbyn fan who took a selfie with him, has come forward. But where a witness statement is contradicted by the hard evidence, the hard evidence takes precedence. Corbyn walked past free unreserved seats as is clearly shown by the footage.

He went to film his staged photo op, then he returned to that same free unreserved seat and sat down for the rest of the train journey.

And yet you believe the company that has everything to gain from attacking Corbyn? But you are not the conspiracy theorist?

The fact that the company has a clear interest in contradicting Corbyn's story. That doesn't mean therefore they photoshopped the images; in this case it's convenient for them that the truth is damaging to his photo stunt.

As for these conspiracies you see everywhere, you really should calm down. Your paranoia is starting to get ridiculous
People will do anything to demonise Corbyn.

If Owen Smith had done this the media wouldnt blink an eyelid.

But there is no room for moral, and good hearted people in politics.

Mine? You are the one crying conspiracy here. Are you sure you feel alright?

Are the Corbynista getting to you? Maybe you should seek help...
