Ugly and Gay?

Scroll to see replies

Original post by Hasan_ali
So I'm gonna start this thread for the some of us who aren't exactly attractive or turn heads in the street.

I've always wondered if I could even have a shot with a guy, if they would like any part of me physically or about my personality? Yeah there's the argument of "just love yourself", but when you see nothing that either you or someone else can love and added on top with really really low self-esteem it would be like asking me to solve differential equations.

I'm not gonna lie, standards for gay men in the community can be really hard to achieve or live up to at times. While some men want a guy who looks like a model or has the phallus the size of a porn star or any other body aspect for that matter it can really be so, dishartening at times. Especially when I'm in the gym for example: all the other guys who are really attractive or are naturally hairless or have dead good and flawless skin, it just makes me think what is even the point where all the men around me, who are all straight, have a almost 100% chance at catching the eye of a guy than I do. Literally, it can become so infuriating at times to the point of tears and depression. (Once, being the sad me sobbed for a good ten minutes after my IG feed was all attractive gays finding happiness and getting married and stuff)

I kinda fit into the gay subculture of a 'cub' but I see other men who label themselves as 'cubs' and they're so much hotter and attractive than I am. Like, they practically have men drooling and throwing themselves to them.

This is how I feel as a gay guy anyway. What is the situation like for gay women out there for ya'll? Is it any worse\better than gay men?

Did you see that documentary on channel 5 a couple of weeks ago called
Mascara Boys: Sex Me Up If not just type that full title on You Tube, google or if you see the repeat of it on catch up tv.
It was hillarious, that will cheer you up.
There was a bloke on it called Rodriguez who used to be fat and ugly and was bullied at school because of this so he had lots of plastic surgery to make himelf handsome. I was laughing everytime they showed him because he looks weird as **** and it was so funny watching him walking down the street with his collar on his coat turned up.

You could go on the internet and ask for donations to fund your plastic surgery and start your own You Tube channel to fund yourself.
Normally i would not encourage anyone to have plastic surgery but you seem like
It's the only way you will be happy with yourself. If that guy Rodriguez had not done it he would be very depressed but i like his attitude and his confidence because he thinks he looks good and thinks he is perfect now and how he feels about himself is more important than what other people think about him. He hated the way he looked before but now he loves himself.
When you get a job you can afford all the different treatments. Jobs like Trainee Recruitment, Trainee Estate Agent pays well especially with commission and bonuses or maybe a wealthy gay person on Seeking Arrangement website will help you.
I don't know what other jobs to suggest to make lots of money except those.

Also because so many people on this forum keep going on about not being able to find a partner or they are not attractive and are single for a long time and think they will never find anyone my other advice for you and anyone one else with similar problems is to join a dating agency to meet blind people or visually impaired rather than thinking you have to spend your life alone.
So if you type blind/ visually impaired dating agencies on google you can meet people on there. It's got to be worth a shot.

I haven't seen it no lol. I don't watch TV that often so I really don't see documentaries like those on the TV but I will defo watch it when I get the chance to.

And j guess so yeah, maybe it is my only option. And i suppose they could be options if university doesn't go well for me or if I don't get in or whatever and normally on those websites you either get asked for sex or if you aren't like dead pretty already then theses a slim chance someone will help.you out.

Maybe that might be an option? Yeah it could be something that I could try?

Lol, nope, it's not like all the shy people suddenly turn into sex beasts. And some people just don't like one night stands. Still, sleeping around is pretty common but it can get awkward if you do it with your hall mates........

With Seeking Arrangement you do not have to have sex with anyone, it's your choice but you have to tell these people before you meet them that you will not have sex with them. It's the clever one's that refuse to have sex and still get paid.
It's free to sign up and free to meet other's on it if your a student.
I signed up last year but because i was not a student then i would have to pay if i wanted to meet anyone that contacted me but i did not pay the monthly fee and did not reply back to the men that contacted me.
I signed up just for a laugh really, i never expected anyone to contact me especially as i did not put a picture up and i was honest about my age but 7 or 8 men did.
I thought they would only want to meet 18 and 21 year olds but all types of people use it as i even saw there were men who wanted to meet transexuals, transvestites
and the same company advertise for people who want to be taken on free holidays abroad and they have a forum for members to discuss their experiences and occasionally invites are sent out to members for everyone to meet each other in a large group in a bar and also for anyone curious to ask the women about their experiences, I was invited to go on 1st September but it costs £32 and i was going to bring of my 2 male friends but maybe i'll go next time when i can afford it.
But to be honest i'm not that confident that's why i did not reply to the men who contacted me on it. If they had wealthy blind men on it i would not hesitate to meet them, but maybe they do, i'll have to ask.

They had a swim suit competition for the female members on it, they all looked like models so it was quite intimidating which is why i was even more surprised i got any replies back.
I don't really take it seriously, i just think the whole thing is hillarious but even if your're not confident you should still just sign up with them to see if you get any replies. Just be honest in your profile like i was and mention that you don't think you are that good looking and your weight. And You have to sign up as a sugarbaby And you should mention you are considering having plastic surgery to improve the way you look that way any one who contacts you might want to help out and pay for it all. It' a bit far fetched but no harm in dreaming is there ? Don't mention the word ugly because someone out there might not think you are. I think i look like **** but some men think i look good but i don't belive that myself. When i used to meet people through adverts years ago and i speak to the person on the phone before we met if they asked me if i'm good looking i would say no because that way when they meet me they won't be dissapointed if they did not like me. Because some people think they are good looking and tell you this but their not.
I've met men who said they are good looking but i did not think so.
But in your case there's no harm in signing up because you might meet someone that is willing to help you so you have nothing really to lose.

Many Years ago when i was desperate to make some extra money i rang up a different escort company that was advertised in the newspaper and the man i spoke to said they don't allow the women to have sex with the men, it's against their rules and the women are only there to accompany the men at horse races, restaurants, etc and be companions. I thought that was brilliant that i did not have to do anything but the company expected a one off fee of £300 or £150 if your unemployed. I did not have the money so did not bother to join. I could have got a loan but having to pay such a huge amount upfront put me off. So some people think escorting is all about having to have sex but it's really up to the individual doing it to choose whether they want to or not and it depends what company you work for.
But if i do decide i will meet the men on seeking arrangement i will be telling them i'm not having sex with them before we meet as some women do not sleep with them. Many years ago through an advert i only had to give a man a massage and nothing else and i got £90 but i only did it once.

I saw These 3 films all on 123movies.to which i thought was really good
Sugarbabies
Sugardaddies
Girlhouse
Those 2 first films give you an idea of what seeking arrangement is about
The 3rd film is just what people do on the internet to make extra money and anyone who does'nt want to be recognised can just wear a mask or something.

That's actually pretty cool them, i will check it out at some point. And yeah, everyone is on there for their own needs I suppose and yeah I feel you on that one. They would probably be rare though or something like that, just like most good things are too.

That's something I am worried of. I suppose all of the twinks might get replies, just me though that might not get any. And that is what I am worried of, what if all the guys on there are basically models or like have massive or big phallus sizes. They are the ones likely to intimidate me and attract all of the wealthy men. That is the thing, I see myself as ugly and disgusting and yeah, ill tell them that I'm not attractive over the phone or something. Will most likely be put off by my voice which is **** anyway.

I suppose that is something that I am up to too, accompanying people. But even then, the attractive people would basically be a magnet for the other people.

I will defo watch the films when I get a chance

I did not read all 5 pages of your thread the first time i replied so only the first and last page so i did not realize you are only 17 so if you did sign up with Seeking Arrangement when you fill in your details with your email address just put your 18 so what ever your birthdate is just add up the year that makes it 18 as i think you have to be18 to join but i'm not sure and you have to sign up or you can't see other people's pictures. Plus you don't have to meet anyone straight away as i did'nt.
1 year later and i still have not replied to the men who contacted me.
And do'nt worry about not getting any replies because not everyone does as i read on their forums that one woman had still got no replies 1 year after she joined and still received none even though she put a picture up and i did'nt put a picture up.
Also do'nt charge the cheapest price because you think you're not good looking.
Just look at what other people charge on their profiles and do the same as them
One man offered me £500 a month but i think that's crap because who wants to get paid monthly when your supposed to get paid everytime you meet up but it depends if they have a good job and what they can afford and you do'nt have to accept monthly payments it can just be whenever you meet up. On google when i typed Seeking Arrangement on there i saw a video of a girl who only charged £100 but i think that was because she was chubby and not that good looking so she thought she should only charge a small amount but other women who are slim and prettier would charge £300 or even £1,000 or more. Go for a lot, not a little regardless of what you look like because they can afford to pay more.

And if you do'nt get any replies after 2 months just change some of the things on your profile and take out certain things as you can just tell them you're not good looking on the phone before you meet. Lots of students use SA to support themselves through uni, college, even last night on ch5 on a programme called On Benefits: Living The High Life there was an older lady who i think was 40 or older who applied to be an escort and she was really happy that she did not have to have sex with anyone just go out with them as a ckmpanion but she got turned down because she had a criminal record but i do'nt know what that escort agency was that she used because no one checked if i had a criminal record on SA even though i do'nt have one. Maybe they only check the wealthy men who use it on SA
Also when i was at school i was hideous, i was never bullied but i remember one boy said to his mate i'm pretty ugly. I could not decide if that was an insult or compliment back then but obviously it was an insult. So no boys ever noticed me and i was ugly but when i reached 21 i changed and looked so much better and i started getting boys/men approaching me on the street all the time and asking me out, even today it still happens so maybe you will become better looking in a few years too and if you keep up with excersizing too maybe on weekends if your too busy with college work or doing excersizing at home.

Thats true, it all is. I guess that I have to set my standards at a reasonably high price then I suppose but not at a too high standard and not too much of a lower one either so I get what you mean.

I hope that I do. Just annoying when I see guys my age in college looking so god damn good and they are all so tall too like damn.Eh, guess there is some advantage to being 5"2 I suppose.

I thought it was a brilliant documentary, I was laughing all the way through it but mainly at Rodriguez and Junyad but i do agree that Rodriguez looked weird but there was a great improvement on how he looked after he had plastic surgery and that Junyad guy was not good looking, i think it was just his coloured contact lenses that made him look better but still i don't know how he ever made it as a model.
It's a good documentary if anyone is thinking of plastic surgery and they can see how it went wrong for Rodriguez so it would put most people off going through with it or if anyone is so determined to change the way they look and feel it's the only way they will be happy then they will be willing to take the risks.
Every time i want to have a good laugh i just watch the part where Rodriguez is walking down the street with his collar turned up and his coat draped around his shoulders and a man walks past him and tells him he looks terrible.
But the only important thing is that he likes himself now so it's better to love yourself than hate yourself so maybe that is what people can learn from that documentary and to never dress like him.

When i was at school i used to always wish i looked like that mixed race girl in that film called Fame ( the original version ) but when you get older you will realise it's not healthy to compare yourself to other people who look better than you because everybody is equal and most of those people are usually ass holes anyway.
Good looking / beautiful people are more insecure than unattractive people and most of the time hate themselves, they take everything for granted, they're never happy they just pretend to be but they are good at hiding it. and they always have lots of problems.
Models are the worst ones for being insecure and not being happy with the way they look.

Have you ever heard of verne Troyer who is only 2ft 8 and married a woman over 6ft and Danny Devito who is 4ft something, I'm not sure exactly what his height is but he is not good looking either and he got married to a female actress who was in an American comedy called Cheers and she is as short as himself but he made it as an actor despite his height and looks and so did Verne and that is a great achievement that they did not let the way they look stop them achieving their dreams.
Look both of them up on google. This will give you some inspiration
Watch their films:
Verne is in Austin Powers - The Spy Who Shagged Me. He plays mini me and watch Danny Devito in War Of The Roses, Throw Momma From The Train, Twins and he was also in the comedy Cheers.
These are all funny to watch. You probably won't have time to watch all these things but maybe when you have some spare time or feeling low these will cheer you up.
Watching films and tv makes me happy, it would be even better if i had someone to watch them with but i still enjoy watching stuff on my own especially stuff that makes me laugh as they take you away from your problems for a while.

Challenge yourself to do different things like acting, going to auditions, working as a film extra even if you don't have any confidence it's also a good way to make lots of money because if Verne Troyer and Danny Devito can do it so can you.
Type Star Now on google and sign up with them. They advetise for film extras, etc.
I signed up with them last year and Capital Casting
Also type Capital Casting because they are an agency that get people jobs as film extras, commercials, etc and you can make £100 in one day depending what the job is and if you are chosen. Anyone can join between the ages of 18 - 100
You can still do these jobs while at uni depending if it's on the weekends or days or evenings. Maybe get an acting agent who can tell you about lots of auditions.
Or look up an agency called Uglies as i think i saw that on tv years ago

Also type Capital Casting because they are an agency that get people jobs as film extras, commercials, etc and you can make £100 in one day depending what the job is and if you are chosen. Anyone can join between the ages of 18 - 100
You can still do these jobs while at uni depending if it's on the weekends or days or evenings. Maybe get an acting agent who can tell you about lots of auditions.
Or look up an agency called Uglies as i think i saw that on tv years ago

Yeah, acting casting have been a thing thats been an option for me. I would probably be doing them in uni because not now though as I am not really free to do them and get around and stuff. And plus, i would likely be ridiculed for it since that always happens with whatever I do anyway lol.

eh, maybe life isn't for me I suppose?

Of course life is for you and if you became successful you will be the one laughing back at those people. Not everybody is blessed with good looks and most or every person who is good looking or beautiful are still miserable, insecure, unhappy wiith their looks and have problems finding relationships that last.
Some people who are not blessed with good looks and fat make it work for them by going into acting or singing just look at Susan Boyle who came 2nd in the X Factor years ago and
James Corden who is fat and ugly.
Also i'd love to be an actress but i was not confident but looking at women like Gabourey Sidibe who was in Glee and the film Precious and she is fat and hideous so if she can do it so can I.
If you don't know who any of these people are just google them

There's a new dating show called Celebs Go Dating at 10pm everyday on E4 or on freeview it's channel 28
It is really good. On Wednesday 31August one man burped or belched on his date then the girl just got up and left. He was so disgusting and rude. So if you can get it on catch up tv watch Wednesdays episode. Or from the beginning from Monday 29th August when it first started.
A woman called Stephanie Pratt is so pretty but her relationships never last. She has been on every reality show but it's not surprising she is single because she chose not to go on a second date with a man she liked just because he told her on the date that he was circumsized a couple of days ago and he let her pay for the bill then the other date she went on with another man she didn't want to see him again because he's a model because she said all the models she dated in the past turned out to be gay.
This dating show is so funny because it shows that even pretty people have problems getting dates.
You probably won't have time to watch it every day but maybe anyone else reading your thread will.

I wanna be that but to be honest no mater how much I may ever try, it's always people laughing down back at me. I have been the one to try so hard but in the end it is the people around me whom do better than me. Guess thats just me then eh?
That is the thing, they probably aren't as they know that they're beautiful with the amount of people that they may get or that they actaully attract attention to them and so find that they have more chances at a relationship. Just today, a guy who I had been talking to for a bit, today I found out that he's found someone else and incidentally this person is hotter than me. Do you see where I am coming from?

Those people have talent, I do not. I always see people born with this amazing talent to sing such high notes or can dance really well or like i dunno can do something at an really good level, thats something I know I severely lack.

I probably watch it when I have the chance lol.

You don't need talent to be an actor, any idiot can act and every actor who became succsessful just got lucky, or they were in the right place at the right time, they did not have talent when they first started but they got better at their craft and
As for the person you met who met someone hotter, that happens to everybody even good looking people get brushed aside for someone better looking than themselves or get cheated on.
It's better for you and anyone else who feels the same to look at other unattractive people's achievements rather than anyone who is attractive otherwise if you just compare yourself to other good looking people it will just make you more depressed. I don't compare myself to other attractive people because just because they look good it does not mean they are better than you or myself or other people who are not attractive. Plus as they get older their looks will fade and they will be in the same position of not liking the way they look.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Focus on building your character, your health and your heart and people will notice. That is what I am hoping :P

You're equal to the men who you think are more attractive and you're just as worthy of love.

In my opinion you should work on having a good personality, maybe learn how to be funny, and get a good figure. Then I'm sure you'll pull all the lads 😉

An optimistic outlook can only help you when you're trying to find someone to date, there's no need to put yourself down.

I suppose so, and I guess they do but they get more chances and opportunities at finding someone if you get where I am coming from. I guess I have to do that too, look at other's achievements. Thank you.

That's what I try and aim for but eventually give up in the end as with my my efforts are always fruitless lol.
