A Level predictions based on GCSE grades?

With many schools now no longer taking AS exams including the one I'm going to go too, mocks will be taken instead. Does this mean that the uni is more likely to look at your GCSE grades and that this will have a larger effect of being offered a place. Could this also mean that A Level predictions could also be more based of GCSE grades than the past years?

Thanks!
A level and Gcse are completely different ball games. Your school will make predicted grades off of your year 12 mocks. So your year 12 mocks are REALLY important. Uni don't really care about gcses as long as you get good a levels.
